NVC check list question

I have a question and hope you guys can help me figure this out. I sent ALL my docs for CR1 visa for my husband (I am a US citizen) to NVC 30 days ago and decided to call and get any updates available for my case. I was surprised to be informed that the beneficiary's birth certificate, police record and marriage certificate were 'missing'. The agent on the phone informed me that they needed those documents to complete the case. I told him that it sounded like the envelop with the IV supporting documentation have not been opened since all of those documents were part of the IV paperwork. He informed that if I was 100% sure I sent them (which I am, since who would not have sent that!) he could do a supervisor review which can take up to 42 days but it does not delay the process of the case in the event the documents 'turned up' I told him to go ahead. I am 30 days into the 60 days waiting period after documents are sent to NVC.

My questions are the following:

1 - Has anyone experienced this and if you have please tell me how it was handled.

2 - Is this a real check list since I have not received any communication from NVC email or otherwise (I got an email before asking for the completion of the DS260 that was already filled out that turned out to be a false ck list) I only have this information because I called them and the agent told me

3 - Should I send them the documents right away? I can have my husband get all those documents and have them apostille again

4 - should I wait to see if the sup review helps since I know all of that is my IV packet info

I am really confused here, I know I sent all the documents they asked for and followed all instruction carefully, they are all listed as part of the cover letter I attached with the IV package. I really just want this to be over.....Thank you for your input.

document handling is a total mess at NVC. I also received similar checklist, in my father's case, though all the documents were submitted alongwith the covering letter provided by NVC and after 72 days this checklist was received. In my mother's case they took 65 days and sent a checklist that W2 of joint sponsor for year 2013 were missing although those were sent with I 864. We sent those again and after 75 days another checklist that W2 of petitioner were missing. its so annoying but this is how they handle the cases and not accountable to anyone. contacting them over phone or email is also next to impossible. Its better to send them again or it would add further delay.

u have to call again to be double sure ok, meanwhile what is ur scan date?

I have called twice to make sure the agents are telling me the same thing and they did, my scan date is March 18th. thank you I will call again today and check again since the last agent was a bit short with me on the phone.

You're abosolutely right, it is shame, I am so frustrated right now, but will send them the docs again,

Did you send your packets at the same time? Because I sent mine I believe 2 weeks apart and I got a checklist for the same packet and it was a false checklist. They didnt get to that packet yet.

Yes, I sent both packages at the same time, I made sure I labeled them on the ourside with the case number and all pages inside had the case number on them, really don't know how they could have lost them

We both have similar stories. My scan date was 03/20,on 04/15 i called NVC hoping for a CC and received the news of a checklist. I sent all Supporting and Financial documents to NVC in ONE package since the website stated to do, so i did. On 04/15 rep informed me that the marriage certificate they had received was issued by the incorrect authority in DR. This made no sense because we had issued my husbands birth certificate at the same place where we had our marriage certificate issued, and his birth certificate had no checklist. I got married in Santiago, DR and my husband was also born in Santiago, DR as well. We issued both certificates from "Oficialia Estado Civil" in Santiago. The rep asked if i wanted this to be reviewed by a rep, but instead of a review i preferred to mail them the original marriage certificate instead of a copy like i did the first time. For the reason that mailed documents are being reveiwed so quickly i did not want to take a chance with supervisor review. Not only an issue with my marriage certificate,THEY LOST COURT DOCUMENTS I HAD SUBMITTED! :ranting:

Now that made me loose my mind. I will understand the fact of a incorrect document sent, but a document i am more than sure i sent being lost is not acceptable. This had been a crazy roller coaster ride, I mailed all correct documents on 04/16 and received a new scan date of 04/17. Hopefully this time i can get the beautiful news of a CC. If you need any help, or just want to vent. I am here for you. Hope all goes well.

Yep, happened to me too this week.!

I received a checklist from the NVC to complete an I-864W which I submitted to them on the 23rd of April 2015 via FEDEX. When I phoned them 2 days ago, they said they had nothing on my record that any documents were received.

Now i have to resubmit it again.......

I don't know if this would help but I contacted my Congressman's office and explainedto them what had happened, they contacted NVC and when I called NVC 2 days later they had misteriously found my documents (the ones I sent back in March 17th) but the agent told me they go by the last mail received which was April 28th since I went ahead and re-sent everything they had misplaced in the first place. So frustrating and upsetting. Good luck in this process
