i met my husband via online too. we never had a problem with the interview as long as our evidence showed we had a genuine relationship it wouldn't be a problem for you good luck on your journey!

Subsequent to that we have travelled back and forth about 10 times, met each other's families and spent as much of our vacation time together as possible.

Is the initial online meeting going to be a problem at the interview? It was not an international marriage site by the way.

After that long and so many meet up there should be no prob

just have all you travel proofs , pics and ongoing relationship

Met my husband online., in this day and age it is not a red flag. Just be prepared to answer how you met online and how the relationship progressed. Good luck and don't worry.

Believe it or not, in this day and age, degrading as it is so rapidly, most people still meet the old-fashioned way! Meeting and marriage online is still the far minority. My husband and I met online....he was in Afghanistan on deployment, I was in UK.

Actually you're both right and wrong. Meeting online is the second most popular way of finding someone, right after meeting through mutual friends according to scientists at the University of Rochester. VJ usually frown upon foreign links (links outside VJ) but I can PM the link to the research article if you want.

People may still meet the 'old fashioned' way yes. But the poster wasn't talking about the entire world. She was talking about the small subset of posters on VJ. As far as it goes out there in the world, online is about the second most popular way to meet - and will continue to grow. In fact you can view numerous polls on VJ to see that online is usually the number one method. It is no longer such a strange or taboo thing.

Almost all people I know in my life, be they friends or close relatives, between the ages of 18-40 met their spouses online in some regard. Beyond that age, was usually the old fashioned way. It's not a big deal.
