Hello VJ members !!
My fiance is from morocco , on the ds160 there is a question about having relatives in the US .
well , my fiancee has a second cousin ( son of cousin ) , and a cousin .
but they dont talk or have any relationship , his cousin is not even a freind of his on FB . he has not seen them since he was a kid .

some people say that having relatives in the US might be a red flag for K1 . because you have someone who can help if your relationship did not work .

well , we dont know if that is true . so what should he say on the form? that he has relatives in the US even if he does not talk to them at all . or just answers
with : NO .

Please we need help !

Never ever lie on the forms! I'm not sure what degree of relation they are interested in, that might be in the instructions but I would just list it. My brother has been living here in the US since before we filed K1 and no one even mentioned that at any state of the game...

True. They know everything before you know it. Thats the number 1 tip. Do not lie to them. My fiance's family were in LA. but you and your fiance are the only ones who can prove them that you have a genuine relationship.

You said " because You have someone who can help if relationship did not work?" What do you mean?

As far as i am aware, no one can help your fiance except you. You have a hold on everything.

As always with immigration, just answer all questions honestly. Having a cousin in the US does not make you ineligible for a K-1 visa.
