Hi VJers,

I have my biometrics appoinement in the Portland, OR office on Monday.

My husband works at that time and I'll be using public transportation to get there. I am absolutely stupid when it comes to understanding where I am, so my trip will involve a lot of navigation and I can't leave my phone at home.

Do any of you know whether the security staff will lt me just leave the phone with them during my appointment?

I called the USCIS customer service and they had no idea.

Before you enter the service center, turn your phone off and put it in your purse. When they search your purse, they will make an issue of it or not. If they do, ask if they have a locker or some place you can put your purse. Take the required papers with you. Each service center is different based on the security guard's preference.
