Hi guys! We received the RFE today. They need 3 things:

-divorce decree of 1st marriage (he was married twice and doesn't have a copy of the 1st divorce decree, we asked the lawyer if they still need the 1st decree, they said no, so we just send the latest divorce decree and HELLO rfe!)

-Intent to marry letter (I asked the lawyer if I still need to make an intent letter, they said no, only my fiance will do it,so HELLO rfe again!)

-IMB certificate (this one is a little odd, we wrote on the application that we met online, it's on FILIPINOCUPID.COM, is it considered as an IMB?)

Please help me on how to deal with the intent letter and the IMB thing... thank you!

And also...

He needs to get the divorce decree in Hawaii, he sent a request a month ago, because he's doubting that he still need the 1st divorce decree. How long does it take to get a divorce decree in Hawaii, my fiance lives in Montana now.

I had a lawyer too. I fired him because of crappy work like this. I was married twice. I sent in certified copes of my divorce decrees. They want to see the whole thing. Yes, you need letters of intent from both. We also did a second one for the interview stage. I have seen this thing with the Filipino site somewhere on here. You need to go to your specific country portal and check with dome other people for that one.

The lawyers said they only need the latest divorce decree. Good thing my fiance still thought of requesting his 1st divorce decree ahead of time.

Yes, I've read it before here on VJ that i also need to make an intent letter. I asked them about it, but they still said no. So, i thought they're right because they are the lawyers. Thank you! Hopefully, we'll be together soon

Hello, so sorry about the RFE. As for the IMB, there have been a lot of RFEs regarding this. Just search for previous posts here and you'll find some ways on how to respond. :) Goodluck!

Whats IMB? Goodluck on ur journey.

IMB means international marriage broker website.

OP can probably search the VJ website for what other people have included for this. If it's not actually an IMB, you should probably get some information from the website you met on that explains it's not one, or if it is, they likely want to see a copy of the consent form that the foreign national signed when joining the IMB.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/126-imbra-special-topics/is a good place to have a look through.

My fiance and I didn't. I don't think that you need to have it notarized. :)

fire the lawyer and do the rest on your own, he/she has no clue what they are doing. With this site you can easily finish on your own.Letter of intent does not need to be notarized. And just an FYI a letter can be notarized by any notary you don't need a lawyer for it, all banks have a notary and do them for free if you are a customer at their bank

Yea, I knew that now that they're useless. We spent more than $700 for their useless #######. Thank you, I will just send a copy of intent letter to my fiance and let him send it.
