Where would my N400 application be processed?

I live in Virginia, so as per instructions I sent my N400 to Dallas Texas.

Is the application processed there, or is Dallas just a dropbox location and the application is sent elsewhere?

It'll be forwarded from the Dallas receiving facility to the National Benefits Center in Missouri for initial processing and then it'll be forwarded to your local field office for the interview.

Thanks for the reply. I was curious where my paperwork went to after it left my hands. Hopefully it will be on its merry way to Norfolk soon. Mind you that is some trip. Virginia to Texas to Missouri and then back to Virginia. Must be some way to cut out the middle man.
