I don't really see any posts in this thread that try to rain on the OPs parade - he expressed surprise at his quick approval and was looking for input. That he got with clarification and some education.

And yes, people are entitled to whine while they are experiencing dismal and discriminatory service. There would be no whining if processing times where roughly equal. They haven't been for well over one year. The whining rightly won't stop until equality is restored.

And no, people are not in individual lines nor are personal histories the main factor in the 8 fold disparity of processing times, but rather lack of resources and abysmal management.

If you didn't see anyone raining on the OP's parade, then you need to go back and have another look. And it isn't up to people here to scold anyone, by way of an "education". VJ is meant to be about help, and encouragement.

Some education for you. The processing times have NEVER been equal. They always have gone back and forth, and they will continue to do that. Equality will never be "restored", as it never existed in the first place.

There isn't a single long line with YOU personally at the tail of it. Every last case is individual, and will be processed as such. You do understand that the numbers on VJ represent a tiny percent of the overall workload? That the two service centers, whether Vermont or California and now Texas have all had processing backlogs in the past?

Of course the waiting time disparity isn't fair. Life isn't fair. Sometimes you draw the short straw and that is too bad. But, the OP didn't post to have people jump all over him and tell him he's being insensitive by having the gall to post he was done in 3 weeks. He isn't any more in control of HIS process than you are of YOURS. His post header is perfectly clear , and if you are offended by that by all means click on through.

When we were at VSC, back when CSC was slow and we were meant to be fast, I actually saw a couple post who had got their NOA2 that made me crazy. They had met in person for the first time 2 months after we had filed. Was I happy about that? Newp. Did I rain all over their happy little parade? Newp. I went into that thread and congratulated them, and I meant every word. I figured it's what grown up adult people do.

And when we got stuck at NVC in the new 'extra security checks" for K1's you bet your last nickle I moaned. Nobody here at the time knew what the heck was up. A group of us started our own thread, and we whined the heck out that thing. But, we did it in the appropriate place. We didn't go off on people posting that two days after getting to NVC they were on the way to their consulate, and tell them they were being 'insensitive".

And by all means whine. Start an entire thread of nothing but whining. What will you achieve? Will it make you feel a little better? Will it hurry the process? Less angry?

Your wife's visa was not approved fast because you did your homework, it was approved fast because she is from the Philippines, which means it gets auto-expedited. Everyone's spousal visa petition takes 5 to 6 months, unless you get an RFE, which prolongs the process, or your spouse is from a country who gets auto-expedited.

Only the petition part of the process is expedited for the Philippines. Once the petition is at the NVC the same amount of wait time apply. I save about two months of wait time at the NVC by researching and following advice of others on here so yes I did my home work, if not my wife petition would probably still be at the NVC, waiting on cc

Three months at NVC is not fast though, that's just the standard time, as long as you make sure to send everything they ask for in the letter. So you didn't save any time, you just made sure to do it just the way NVC wants it first time. Which is great for you and your wife.?

3 months is not standard time more like 4 or 5 months

It is about 2 weeks to 4 weeks for the nvc to receive petition then it can take up to 42 days for them to assign case number then another 30 days for them to review the ds-261 form then if you wait to pay all the fees before sending in documents that is another 30 to 60 days then after the NVC receives document that can take 30 to 60 days I save time by sending in documents before I paid the IV fees and fill out the visa application which I will not have know had I not research on here and follow advice of others so yes that is doing my homework

it looks like that you have just paid the AOS fee if you had not already sent in both AOS and IV packets you should as that will save you some time you can use the AOS barcode cover sheet with each packet and send both to that address. You do not have to wait for the iv fees to be paid or the DS-260 to be fill out you can do that while the nvc is reviewing your documents

First congratulations

Secondly you have to understand when the USCIS website says 5 months that means within 5 months

Anything under 5 months is reported as 5 months

Also for the people who are waiting and having been waiting a very long time at tsc your post seems a little insensitive

How is this insensitive?? I am happy for him and her and think that maybe I will get lucky too! Kind of keeps me positive and looking forward even though it is a "lottery ticket".
