Hello all, I would love a very good advise on what to do. I had my greencard for approximately 2 years and I filed for my removal of conditions but to my surprise, I just got an extension for one year versus the ten years I read on forums.

I want to know if someone has had such an experience. I am just worried and would like to know if I did anything wrong.

11/27/14: Texts and emails received.
12/03/14: Paper NOAs.
12/10/14: Biometrics completed (appt date)
02/13/15: EAD Received.

The I-751 NOA receipt itself serves as a temporary one year extension of your permanent resident status. Once your I-751 is approved then you will receive a new unrestricted ten year green card.

The one year extension is an interim measure for you to use as proof of legal status whilst USCIS process your application.

hi

nope, it's normal, the process takes a long time, the receipt of the i751 also acts as an extension, everyone who is filing for removal gets one, since the process usually takes over 6 months and your 2 year GC will have expired

check the forum and you will see that everyone got one

with the extension, you can live, work and travel, even if your 2 year GC expires, while you are waiting for the 10 year GC
