Hi all,

Long time reader, first time posting.

Read A LOT of info on here and want to start by saying that this is a fantastic community and we have learned so much from you guys. So thanks!

Our I-129f was received by the Dallas Lockbox on 23rd March and we got our NOA1 confirmation on 25th.

Sadly - judging by numerous comments on here - the receipt number began with SRC which I believe means Texas processing?

Strangely, we haven't received any confirmation email or SMS which makes it tough to know exactly what's going on, especially with the 'check status' functionality not working properly. Does this seem right?

Also read that many late March filers are being sent to CSC which in our case isnt true.

Unless something changes soon, it looks like a 7 month wait at Texas compared to just a month at California.

Many things about this process seem unfair, especially for people waiting since Sept of last year at Texas.

Does anyone have any updates on Texas wait times and possible transferring to CSC?

Cheers

Tom & Kaley

Yes, SRC means you're unfortunately at TSC. Some sources reported yesterday that only very recently filers will be directly routed (no transfers) to CSC. I would suspect that you're at a cutoff date, so you were unlucky sadly. Did you clip an e-notification form to the front of your application when you sent it in? I know some people have reported issues with getting the website and notifications to work. Have you tried phoning them?

At best yes, right now it's a 7+ month wait. Anywhere from 220+ days. They are officially working on August, but its been that way for a while -- and they are clearly handling September cases... mostly skipping October.. and on occasion you see November too. It remains to be seen it TSC will improve wait times. It may or it may not.

We submitted on 16 March 2015 and got a stupid SRC receipt number. This is so not what i wanted to hear... Was hoping they might still transfer our case. This is heartbreaking :(

No we didn't attach anything about notifications, probably the one thing we missed.

All I keep thinking is a week later and it would be a month for NOA2 rather than 7 months. Going to drive me insane to be honest.

Almost hoping for an RFE in the hope it goes to CSC or something. Very sad and agree heartbreaking.

Feeling powerless is probably the worst part.

They only began routing petitions around the 25th-27th of March...sorry guys. SRC = Texas = being stuck in limbo. Sadly, that means you guys have joined the end of the line.

I'm very sorry. :( Been stuck in the hell well over 180+ day wait and counting at TSC.

Since you didn't send in an e-notification form unfortunately you won't be notified electronically. You can register the case/sign up on the USCIS website, but that's pretty much all you can do.

You would think that they would start transferring cases that have been waiting so long already and not new cases. At least that way they would be easing the workload at TSC and in turn bring the processing times down.

This is beyond frustrating and it seems so unfair to those of us who are following the system and going about this the legal way. i am honeslty at a loss right now :'(

We have registered on USCIS's website and there you can select a method of notification, either email, sms(text) or both.

They didn't start rerouting cases until on or after March 27th. Therefore your petition was received before the organisational restructure.

There are no transfers. You will not be transferred.

Best of luck on your journey.

I think I'm the only one that won't mind the 7 month wait. We're planning on me moving across around October; anything sooner than that is going to make it terribly difficult. We filed from Ohio so we'll probably go to CSC but we're in no hurry.

Thanks for the info guys. We've set up the online notifications, even though it would seem there won't be much news for a while.

Coming to terms with the wait now. Like most of the couples dealing with TSC, we will be glued to this site for any news of applications being transferred or processing times decreasing.

It is interesting though that the official timelines for CSC are 5 months which we all know to be utter rubbish. Guess they do this to stop people trying to transfer to expedite the process. Seems very underhand to me, but that's governmental procedures for you. It's the same in the UK sadly.

Not for certain what you meant by "to stop people trying to transfer..." but FWIW, no person can request that their petition be transferred to another service center. Well I suppose that technically you could ask, but they won't grant the request. Where you are routed, you are stuck, unless THEY initiate a transfer. It's rather widely accepted/known that the 5 months thing is their goal processing time. It just so happens that the CSC has been obliterating that goal for some time now, while the TSC obliterated it on the opposite end of the speed spectrum.

As someone who was in the front lines of fighting for service center equality, it was exceedingly frustrating to hear the USCIS use this 5 month GOAL PROCESSING TIME as their ACTUAL processing time when I presented data that showed the processing time imbalance very clearly. I was told "no, the CSC is processing in 5 months, not less-than-one, just look at the website."

Yeah, I was actually told that by the USCIS via one of my senators. Incredibly, annoyingly, absurdly, unbelievably frustrating.

Anyway, welcome to the club.

Hi Charlotte. Yes, the TSC is approving some September petitions, and have completed a fair amount of the August filings. There have been later approvals too, November in particular. No one knows why the petitions come in such an out-of-order fashion, though there are many speculative reasons such as batch processing, faster adjudicators who have a set of petitions that they go through in less time than other adjudicators and also random approvals of later petitions to help their processing time numbers look better as an organization.

Please complete a VJ timeline Charlotte, it helps everyone get a better feel for how fast petitions are being approved. You can do that in your profile. :time:
