Dried Fish Okay?

My fiancee will be flying to the US shortly. She bought a box of dried fish to bring with her. Will US Customs make her throw it out? Part of me hopes so! lol

Lol.. No, they won't ask her to throw it. Just have to declare it and a long queue to clear it. As long as it is declared, it should be fine

How i miss dried fish!

I brought dried mangoes and UFC banana catsup with ne. I regret i didnt bring much of the food im going to miss. I guess if she packed them very well it wont be too much of an issue, its just the smell thats really i think might be noticable, esp if there are canines hehe.

Fish is fine. My lola made me bring several pounds of frozen fish when I returned to the US on one of my past trips and I got through just fine.

Make sure you declare it though. I generally make a list of all foods I'm bringing to the US while I'm packing and just hand it over to CBP.

It seems to me that they should not do this because it is personal property and it does not emit any odors, so there is nothing to fear here because they do not have the right to do this. I remember three years ago when we were on a plane and we had live stones from ARCREEF in our hand Luggage. Our friends told us that it was wrong and we should leave them at home but we had to bring them because our daughter's aquarium needed these stones. Fortunately, all fears were not justified and we calmly brought them to our child
