I tried to find what this status means. We have sent in all the paperwork they required and have received confirmation that the papers were received by the Embassy. We have completed everything and are awaiting the Visa and her passport to be returned, when I went online to check status, it says this, but I do not understand what it means. I starred out the case number for privacy reasons.

Based on your timeline (please update it, by the way)

it seems that they received the new documents after the interview. Usually, the status is 'AP' whilst they are reviewing it.

CEAC status changes a lot before and after the interview - for now - keep track of the date of the change and the status, each time it changes - keep a log book, written record until it changes to 'issued' there.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

The visa processing steps after visa interview are as follows:

The first AP is the immigration unit doing the paperwork for approving the visa

The first READY is a notice that they are finished and the paperwork is being sent for visa issuance

The second AP is the visa issuance people doing their own paperwork

The second READY is that the visa has been issued and is currently being processed for delivery

Upon the second READY, it will be sent out within a few days.

No one can tell anyone when they will get there visa. There has been some who received in two days and others more than three months. Yes, normal delivery is around 3 weeks if the sun, moon and mars are lined up so don’t run out and buy any airline tickets till your visa is in your hands.

Hey wolsen,

Any updates on your status? I got the exact same status last April 1st (Wednesday) but no update whatsoever since then (because of the holidays + weekend last week). Yesterday was the second business day after the status change for us, no update still so we're just trying to be patient. :) It's been really helpful to know, based on people's experiences here, that once the status has changed from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant" (for a K1 visa), that pretty much means it's already been approved and that only paperwork is being done. I think our files might be on the same pile at the embassy at this very moment. ;)
