We had to go to the biometrics appointment today and encountered the most rude and belittling security guard ever. Why do they allow security to get away with ridiculous behaviour of slamming papers and belongings or rolling eyes and calling people stupid? Its stressful enough without having to put up with that nonsense. Just a vent..... bad part is knowing you can't say anything to them or complain because the fate of your appointment basically lies in their hands.

Just like posting on the internet - when people are immune from their actions some of them show a darker side..

...or someone was having a bad day and takign it out on you. Either way sorry you had to be the recipient of that behavior.

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

Probably contracted out but one of the direct benefits of working for the Government.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Huh. I dont know.

Perhaps Im just a loud mouth but Ive complained quite often. Hardly do I hold back.

Several things come to mind reading your post though-

First- did you consider complaining on the way out? I can understand being intimidated on the way in... Maybe feeling like they might delay you or not admit you, but after your business is done- well then who care. Take note of their names (in case they are gone when you return) and on the way out stop back at the desk and ask for management. Explain you needed to get upstairs for your appt but the treatment was so so bad you had to return to report it on the way out.

Secondly, your post says "We". As far as I can recall, Biometrics is not a joint appt. It only requires one persons presence. So Im assuming you all went as a couple? Yes. So whomever was the one needing fingerprints could have safely went into the elevator and up they went while the other oops missed the door and turned back around to express displeasure with the gatekeepers.

If it turned into- please remove yourself- well at least the immigrant is upstairs getting fingerprinted. But I dont know.

Usually if you complain in a civil manner it wont escalate to the point where you are removed or asked to leave.

Unfortunately ppl given a little power seem to always be the ones that behave like that.

Went we went to do our prints the security guards didn't want to let us in. He sent us away, we waited a bit hoping they would switch places or something.

Then our appointment time was getting really close so we went back in and again he didn't want to let us in. For him he saw 6 ppl and thought is was too many ppl to let in. Well 5 of us needed to do our bio's so my husband(USC) asked to speak to a supervisor. The guard took our appointment letters to the lady who was doing the Bio's and she told him to let us in as we all had appointments and we needed in. He was much nicer to us on the way out. I think they are told to not let anyone extra and took it a little too far.
