MarcoPogo and Cody and Daisy, I don't understand why you have the address of the filing location and the address of the consulate in the country of where your fiance is located. Is this information necessary, since this is just an intent to marry letter? Also I see you have added your address or the veneficiary's address. Why is this necessary when that information has been filled out in the 129F form. All 4 addresses are known by the USCIS already.

tealeaf- The answers that you received thus far are good, so I won't comment further. That said, I'd like to ask that you complete your VJ timeline. That data helps all of us; since you've asked for our help, would you mind taking a couple of minutes to help us too? :time:

Thanks!

Thank you all for the replies. I included an intent to marry but it was just one sentence long and only I signed it. I guess it wasn't enough. If you have any links to sample letters of intent to marry please post them here.

For that letter do we both have to write one letter and both sign it or we have to write 2 separate letters and each sign the own letter? Since they require my fiance to sign the letter, does she have to post mail it to me so the signature is in ink or is it ok if she scans it and sends it to me online?

So you included the intent to marry letter with only your signature. That covers you.

But they need a letter from her saying she intends to marry you (within 90 days of POE) with her signature.

I know that someone asked you this already, but did you send letters of intent to marry?

I am currently waiting for my NOA2. Or an RFE- whichever comes first. I sent a letter of intent (one for me) and a separate one for my fiance. I emailed him the letter, he printed it in Mexico, signed it in blue ink by hand, and then express shipped it by DHL to the United States to me. And then I included both of those in the I-129F packet.

Good luck. Let me know how it goes! Feel free to message me.

What timeline should I fill? I'm not sure what you mean by that.

One last question. I downloaded the templete of the intent to marry from VJ. I will complete 2 of them, one me stating that I will marry her and one her stating that she will marry me. Do we need to both sign both letters of intent or we each just sign our own?

And for the address of the filling location do I need to include the PO box or just the location without it?

If you click your username on the top right side of the page you will see "my timeline"

It's a timeline of your process that helps us help you and helps everyone use the site.

You both need to sign your own.

You need to send it to the Texas lockbox address.

Ok I will do it as soon as I have time as I am extremely busy these days.

Will the USCIS send any mail to my fiance during the petition approval process or after they approve it or any mail at all during the entire K1 visa process?

No, during the petition process only the petitioner gets mail. Once it is approved and forward to the beneficiarys local embassy then they will get the letters saying its arrived and what steps to take next.

Put no addresses at all. They are not a requirement.

These samples work perfectly >

I have a nit-picky question about the letters of intent. Everywhere says sign and date them. If the date is typed at the top of the letter (like a typical business letter) do we really need to hand write in a date at the bottom near our signature?

Thanks!

Julie

Ya, we were wondering why that happened to you. Now we know.

There are sample letters that you can use. I did one for Ana and emailed it to her. She printed and signed and snail mailed it back to me. And I DO mean snail.

Here's what I sent to her to sign. Use the same one for you and change the info

Fiancée Letter of Intent

Beneficiary's Name:

Address

Unites States Department of Homeland Security

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Address of filing location

United states Department of State

United States Consulate Manila, Philippines

Date:

Dear Sir or Madam:

I, (name) do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry (name), and intend to do so within 90 days of my arrival into the U.S. using the K-1 visa.

Regards,

I sent one letter stating our intent to marry within 90 days of his entrance into US and we both signed it. So It just may be up to the person reviewing your file. I am new to this and probably should have sent 2 separate letters but at the time I was visiting him we just filled out most of the information together and I put the rest of it together when I got back to the states. Hoping that was sufficient. We shall see soon. From what I understand you are suppose to follow the RFE directions if they need a letter of intent then that is all I would send to them. probably 2 separate ones ( which I will do if asked on RFE) nothing more nothing less. And although I have no experience I have heard many horror stories of having to reapply with the I130 if you have a marriage ceremony before a decision is made on your I129. good luck
