Help! Won't be living together for K1visa and AOS

Try to make this short. I am waiting for my K1Visa interview May 5, 2015. We started the process in hopes that it would be ok if I came to the states and got my own place for a few months when we get married. The reasons are that he has an 8 year old son who is still dealing with the divorce of a year ago. I've met him many times and we get along very well, my fiance and I are just going slow with the move in because we want to be sensitive to his son. That being said, I am now worried that our situation won't fly with the consulate or USCIS when I apply for AOS. Does anyone have any helpful advice? I'm starting to get really worried....

We didn't live together at first but only about a month. My middle child has some issues with being bipolar so we gave some adjustment first. They didn't even question it.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

How long are we talking about?

I've seen cases on here where a couple didn't live together because of religious reasons before the religious wedding could be organised, and it was no problem.,.. I think if it is a couple of months, you wil be fine- especially as you wouldn;t have an AOS interview till 6+ months down the line. But if we are talking longer term, yeah I think that will be an issue.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Things might have to change then.. If I don't have an AOS interview for 6 months then how will I work? I apply for AOS and EAD at same time? Hopefully be able to start working in 3 months?

Yes you apply for AOS and EAD at the same time, EAD will come sooner though

Consulate Received : 10/6/14 CEAC status changed to ready

Packet 3 Received : 10/27/14 packet received by petitioner in USA ( beneficiary never received packet 3)

Medical: 10/30/14 Dr. Buteau                  Medical picked up: 11/3/14

Packet 3 Sent : 11/10/13.. Had to schedule interview appointment and attach confirmation receipt to packet

Interview Date : 12/1/14                           Interview Result : Approved !

Visa Received : 12/10/14 picked up at Jacmel location

US Entry : 12/15/14 Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Apply for Social Security Card: 12/30/14 Connecticut

Marriage: 1/26/15

Approved: 8/31/15                                     Received: 9/8/15

 

EAD

Received: 6/20/15

 

Removal of Conditions I-751

Filed: 8/14/17 at VSC                                 NOA: 8/15/17 Received 8/21 by mail

Biometrics: Dated: 8/25/17   Received 9/2/17   Appointment 9/11/17 

Approved: 10/23/18 -no interview

Yeag EAD (work permit and AP(travel permit) you should get in 2-3 months; the greencard itself can take much longer.
