Mailed out AOS Package today - hope I did this right...

Hello VJ'ers!

The good news first: I mailed out my AOS Package today.

My father-in-law is a former postal worker (he worked for USPS for over 20 years) so because I was worried about some parts of the documents getting damaged on their way (particularly the only lightly "sealed" "do-not-open" medical results envelope), he insisted on putting the papers which were already in a hard plastic binder into an Express Mail box with a bunch of plastic bags as a buffer.

"That's how people mail things. It's normal." I kept hearing, so I guess he must know, right?

I still think it's a bit weird and I hope that USCIS won't mind. They are paranoid enough to make other people paranoid as well...

The second things is: While I had this express mailed with a return receipt requested/delivery confirmation, I did not request the package to be signed for by USCIS. It'll only be signed for by the post office. According to my father-in-law that shouldn't pose a problem but what do you guys think?

Thank you in advance!

Express box although not necessary (an express envelope would of been good enough) should not cause any problems

not requiring a signature by the USCIS should not pose a problem either

you do have the delivery confirmation and you should have a tracking number. there is really nothing to worry about
