I'm planning to get married in Butuan,Philippines and wanted to know how long for US Embassy to issue a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage. If my appointment time is 9am, would it be possible to get the certificate by noon?

you'll get it after your appointment. My husband and I got it for like 2 hours including the waiting time. Our appointment is 730am and left around 9am with the certificate.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I suppose the affidavit can also be obtained in Cebu consulate office? My wedding will be in Butuan and still thinking if I should get the affidavit in Cebu if possible just so I can avoid all that crazy traffic in Manila.

thank you.

Yes you can get one at the US consular office in Cebu. I did. But remember that office is close all of next week, Apr 6 - 10.

Thank you for your info. I'll contact them to make an appointment. I still have few more months to go. By the way, do they offer only walk-in service? I don't find any computerized appointment system like the ones in Manila.
