Regarding special tests - if you want to apply for a graduate program (either for a Master's or Phd degree) you will most likely need to take the GRE test - it's a standardized test to prove verbal and math skills administered by - I believe - the same guys who do the TOEFL test. If you haven't got the TOEFL you might need that as well, depending on the school you're planning to attend and what language experience you can show.

You will almost certainly be able to take classes at the community college level without any trouble, but if I understand you correctly and you are hoping to do a graduate degree, then you need to apply and probably you want to apply to more than one school - depending on school and program the admission rates can be low (e.g. MIT would likely only accept the top few percent of applicants), so check out the schools near where you'll be living, find the programs that you are interested in, see if they only need the general GRE or any of the subject ones and prep for that. Then get started on application essays - maybe have your spouse help you with those if you haven't written one before - and try and tailor it to the school(s) you are applying to.

As BaronB said - being older might work in your favor for the application (if you play it right), because a lot of schools are priding themselves on the diversity of their student body. Depending on your timeline for the move maybe you can go and visit some of the faculty for programs that you want to attend, get a better idea and get them to get to know you. You will most likely be required to produce references, so get in touch with Profs from your old school who might be willing to write a positive letter for you (but don't have them write it yet, a lot of schools have them submit the references online).

Good luck!
