Interview Date Question

I got a CC on March 26, received CC email on 4/2 with no interview date on it. I was told by THREE NVC operators that Netherlands/Amsterdam Embassy is one of the quiet ones, so their not sure what the hold up is (perhaps so quiet they don't check their emails as often one said. One said they may even throw you for a loop, schedule it and it be 5 days later as is done by that embassy often). Why don't they know what their embassy's do and how they go about the process? Am I asking the wrong thing? Should I be wording it different when asking about interview being scheduled yet and when it will be done?

I have tried contacting the embassy in Amsterdam (with the numbers from the Embassy Info here on this site) but have not had luck. Says only way to get a hold of them is email. We have three emails sent there in past two weeks and they do NOT respond (Just maybe tell them a heads up we are waiting, not patiently either >.< ).

Is there any other way to inform them that we are waiting on an interview or should I just leave it be? My issue that scares me is that my husband will be traveling here on the 23rd of April to visit me and at the cost I would really hate to all the sudden find out interview date is when he's here, which ofc would mean rushing back right away to do medical and interview (and praying it was all done in time).

And looking at previous entrys on DWheels data from my husbands Embassy in Amsterdam:

VJ Member Name Case Complete Date Interview Date Scheduled Interview Date AmeriDutch 1/14/2015 1/31/2015 2/5/2015

17 days from CC to date Interview was scheduled to 5 days til the date if the interview. That's NO time from date you know the interview is scheduled to the actual interview date.

AngelaMatthew 1/6/2015 1/13/2015 1/26/2015

7 days from CC to date Interview was scheduled to 13 days til the date if the interview.

Any ideas or ways to get a hold of them (aside from phones that don't work and emails that they don't respond to)?

Risk it and have husband come?

Cancel until after interview (then knowing my luck interview wont be til June/July lol)?

Ugh so confused on what to do. So very few people immigrate from the Netherlands its hard to find any data that would give me a better idea on which way to proceed. I "feel" like he could safely come on his visit without problems of interview coming up too fast but what do i know, all my luck he'll get denied at border and it'll mess up our process even though hes been here 4 times.

Thanks for any advise guys/gals.

Does our case stay at NVC until the interview is scheduled? Or does NVC send it and then its scheduled? How does that work?

The former is correct: It stays at NVC until the interview is scheduled, then they ship it to the embassy. You can keep track of that on the CEAC visa status (if the maintenance on that website ever finishes!). When it says "In Transit", it's on its way. It will then update to "Ready", meaning they have your case and you can go ahead and do the medical.

As for the problem getting scheduled in the first place, unfortunately you will have to wait. All you can do is continue to be in contact with NVC so you know right away when the interview date will be. A lot of embassies insist on email communications, and even the London embassy is hit and miss on replies. Just another frustration to add on to the time we waited already!

Edit: You will need to check with the medical centre if they require the interview letter before the examination can take place. That usually comes out about a week or so after the interview is booked. London, for example, doesn't require the interview letter but does require that you have an NVC case number.

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

If you look at AngelaMatthew timeline that date they ended up with was a reschedule and its 2/26 not 1/26. That happens with a reschedule and yes you sometimes get a week to get ready. Regular scheduling you have 30 days or more. So nothing unusual here.

aling all over desn;t get you an interview you can't jum the queue or force your embassy to do anything What NV is speaking of is they have to wait for the embassy to send them available slots NVC can not do anything without that info. Your embassy ha;t done it WHY? who knows. All you can do is wait. You just got case complete most really is a 30 days wait to interview scheduling. Patience at this time is vital.
