Recommended Removal Companies - Help!!

We have received the NOA2 (yay! :) ) and so I have started trying to get quotes from removal companies to ship my stuff over to the US from the UK.

I sent each company a list of the boxes I would be taking, including dimensions, and got a range of quotes from £400 to £1100!

I have started looking on the internet for reviews on the companies, but so far, it seems like all of the companies have completely mixed reviews, making it very hard to know which company to trust with my items. I also know it can differ based on the local company that they use in the US.

I am moving to Las Vegas, so I believe my items will ship to LA, and then transit over land to Vegas itself.

I am wondering if anyone has any recent good experiences, and can recommend any firms? Or warn me away from any companies that were really bad!!

Hi there! Are you shipping small boxes or furniture too? I used UPS for my 12 boxes and they were great :)

Our journey so far:

27 Mar '09: Met at work in Holland and started dating.

30 Nov '13: Got engaged in Scotland!

10 Jan '14: Sent I-129F package to Dallas Lockbox.

22 Jan '14: NOA1 received.

29 Jun '14: Congressman Lobiondo inquired at TSC about our case.

16 Jul '14: Senator Menendez inquired at TSC about our case.

21 Jul '14: NOA2 approved!! (180 days)

23 Jul '14: Case sent to NVC.

01 Aug '14: Received NVC case number.

07 Aug '14: Case sent to Dutch consulate.

13 Aug '14: Packet 3 received, completed the DS-160 form.

15 Aug '14: Sent Packet 3 back to the consulate.

21 Aug '14: Packet 4 received with interview date.

02 Sep '14: Medical examination.

16 Sep '14: Interview --> APPROVED!!

20 Sep '14: Passport with visa returned.

12 Oct '14: POE, entered the USA!

14 Nov '14: Married! <3

24 Dec '14: Filed AOS/EAD.

31 Dec '14: AOS/EAD NOA1's received.

29 Jan '15: AOS RFE received for 2014 tax return.

23 Feb '15: AOS RFE response sent.

13 Mar '15: EAD RFE received for legal married name affidavit.

17 Mar '15: EAD RFE response sent.

29 Apr '15: Filed InfoPass to find out why I still didn't get biometrics appt.

06 May '15: Biometrics appointment.

14 May '15: Received EAD (finally!)

22 July '15: Interview waived.

08 Sep '15: Got my Green Card!

Watch the Packing Video. http://www.shipit.co.uk/Packing_Overseas_Removals.htmThat is what impressed us and we were not disappointed. Still sealed and nothing broken when we picked it up from the port. I supposed the van company may break down your shipment before land transport. You could ask.

23 boxes and a crated antique clock was about 2.1 cubic metres after wrapping and palleting.

There appear to be a boat load of UPS locations in the UK - they're super reliable, big, tracking will be well done and one of the 2 big couriers in the US

06/17/11 - status change - scheduled for interview

06/20?/11 - received physical interview letter

07/13/11 - Interview in Fairfax,VA - easiest 10 minutes of my life

07/19/11 - Oath ceremony in Fairfax, VA

12/2/09 - NOA's for self and daughter

01/12/10 - Biometrics completed

I used Anglo Pacific for shipping clothes and household items. They supplied the packing materials too. Six boxes at 25kgs cost $1000 (approx) Got to Denver within 6 days and everything was intact.

Thanks for the info guys.

I'm not shipping furniture, just boxes of things like books, dvds, and then possible my computer and my playstation, although I may buy new ones of those when I move depending on costs.

Same as me, 12 boxes with clothes and personal belongings and some game consoles. Cost 500 euros from Holland and was delivered 4 days later, no security checks or anything! As long as you make a detailed list of what is in each box and the value of each item etc.
