Several times I have read posts indicating the USCIS does not update of make notifications about the status of an RFI submission on their government website.. In my case this is not correct as my RFI submission for a I-751submitted on March 14th, 2015 was updated by USCIS April 1, 2015. Information indicated that a card was ordered to be produced. FYI

Most people would agree with you in that the only update that happens is when it changes to say the card is in production. You RFE wasn't updated, the status of your card production is what changed. People are usually explaining that when they send items in response to an RFE that no update happens letting them know that they have been received or accepted etc. The case ending and card being produced seems to be the only time that the updates happen if they happen at all.

Perhaps I misunderstood your post but did your status change when the RFE was requested? OR did it change when they received your response? Or did it only change when the card was being produced as the result of your case now being complete?

Semantics, an update is an update your response is confusing. Just take it for what it is.

It's not simply a matter of semantics. Status is usually only updated when they approve your case. Not when they receive responses to RFE. Had they not approved your case, your status most likely wouldn't have changed irrespective of they received your response to RFE or not.

All day here in VJ people's opinion is passed off as fact, happens on this board on almost every other post. The USCIS is not here to hold you hand....a response is an update,........ period. A status change was made from pending to complete. You and I disagree and I will leave it at that

It's not a matter of individual opinion. The question is NOT whether "is there any update at all after you respond to your RFE". Of course there is an update when the green card is approved after response to an RFE is received. The real question is whether "The update is made just for receiving the response to RFE and BEFORE greencard is approved or an interview is scheduled". The answer is no, usually not. Anyway, I have no interest in further discussing it.

"No usually not" Again your entire post is based on speculation. Show me facts or hard evidence that your point is correct. Avoid using your opinion to explain procedure from the USCIS. You do a diservice to people who may confuse your statements as fact.

a lot of times most people tend to use their experience or hearsay to provide info to all of us here which are some times relevant. although i understand the point you are trying to make here but you seemed to be rash in your own conclusion. you were unable to let this forum know that your case were updated regularly as it was being processed. for that reason you cannot and have not been able to discredit your opponents as you chose to be. get your facts together before beating your chest! I am not using my opinion. I am using what others on this website have reported. In fact in your very first post, you admitted the following

"Several times I have read posts indicating the USCIS does not update of make notifications about the status"

My position is based on similar observation. You make the above observation then try to claim that above observation isn't always true based on your own case. However, your case is invalid because your status was updated AFTER your card was approved. So the very premise that you used to form your conclusion is flawed. I simply pointed that you can't use your own case to form such a conclusion. I never claimed that status NEVER changes after response to RFE is received. I simply said that it is USUALLY not the case. Please reread the thread and try to understand what others have said before trying to debate this issue. In fact I am surprised that you are even trying to debate it.

Agreed, obviously.

I don't want to start an argument with the OP but my post was not simply a difference of semantics. I was trying to clarify for the OP and to anyone else that follows (who might be mislead by the thread's topic) that the update only happened because the case had completed and the card was now in production. It was not an update of status based on the RFE being responded to but because the case was now closed. THAT is why the status changed online. Nothing else.

"on the road again": What people say here is not considered as facts. People are simply sharing their experiences along this journey. Just because something happens in your case does not mean that it would go the same way for other people. Everyone's case is different. We do not know the details of other cases. Some cases are more complicated and screwed up than others. Some are simple and straight forward.
