The form does not expire and will not be replaced by a newer version on 4/1/15. Use the form edition dated 3/22/13 (found in the bottom left corner). The N beside the date indicates No, previous editions are not accepted. A Y by the edition date would indicate Yes, previous editions are accepted.

The OMB date at the top right indicates when the form must be reviewed by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in compliance with law concerning government documents and the Paperwork Reduction Act. It's involved and allows public comment periods and publication of recommendations in the Federal Register. The review is never complete prior to OMB date. They can keep it the same, revise it slightly, or completely change a form based on the review. The current form version dated 2013 (bottom corner) had a 2012 OMB expiration date. You'll have your visa before this I-864 finishes review and gets a new OMB date indicating when it must be reviewed again.

NOA2- March 23rd. How do you all feel about scheduling the medical before getting the official letter from the embassy. I've seen a lot of people on here doing that. So once you get your case number from the NVC you can then schedule the medical early if you want? I'm a bit confused about that whole thing. Just wondering what your thoughta are on that...

That's exactly why I want the case number. I want to schedule the medical as soon as I have it. I won't take an immediate appointment. The case needs to arrive at the consulate before the medical results are in, otherwise they won't know what to do with them and this could incur delays. The idea is to try get an appointment a couple of weeks out to allow time for the NVC to ship the case to London, then submit the forms and pay the fee.

So once you have your case number approximately how long will you schedule your medical from that time? And one more question- when you started calling NVC to ask about your case- was there a better time to try calling or is it just a luck kind of thing if you get through? I'm so new to this stage of the process that I'm trying to read all the forums & I'm getting a bit overwhelmed so thank you in advance for your help ?

Probably a couple of weeks. It will also depend on what is available and when. We have a child for a K2 as well, so that means we need two back to back appointments. I'm not sure if that will push out the availability further.

Regarding the NVC I only started calling on Friday night between 11 pm and midnight. Couldn't even get into the queue. Tried again twice at around 9 am EST yesterday and got straight through both times with virtually no wait. Tried again at 7 am EST this morning and went into the queue, but waited 30 minutes. I'm not really seeing a pattern to this, despite advice given by others. I think there are bad times, but the better times seem to be a bit of a lucky dip.

We plan to schedule the medical as soon as we have our number too. Hopefully a couple of weeks out so that they definately have the file in London. Though our case hasn't yet been shipped to NVC. Hopefully soon.

We scheduled our medical appointment a day or two after our case status was listed as ready. I know that Knightsbridge only allows you to make an appointment a month out. It took about a week from NVC to be listed as 'ready' for us.

We got our NOA2 text and email on 3/13. USCIS still shows only that it was approved and not that they have sent it to NVC. We are CR-1 though so maybe those go in a different group/batch to the NVC.

I'm hoping they have and we are one of the few that the website wasn't updated to status of sent to NVC.

In the meantime I am waiting for a newer version of the I-864 form to download (the current one on their website expires 3/31/15) we have all of our supporting documents ready to go in their folders waiting for the light to turn green so we can go, go,go!

Just got off the phone with NVC. Case WAS received yesterday and is now in "pre-sort" waiting for a case number to be assigned. The USCIS website never did update to say case sent to NVC in case anyone is tracking this data.

Thanks. I just called NVC again and the agent told me (jokingly) to give them a chance first So I will call back after work.

We will keep you all updated.

Did you need to take the original W2 to the interview, or a copy? I know they give certificates etc back to you, provided you take a copy for them to retain, but is the same true for things like pay stubs, W2 and the like? I need to know that William will get his originals back. I emailed the consulate but I think the response was a bit generic with a reference to the link on their website. It was hardly helpful as I checked that before contacting them.

London is easy. Photocopies of paystubs or W2s are fine. An employer letter is best original if's an actual signed letter. Some employment verifications are printed off internet systems so aren't signed but serve the same function.

Also, you do know that you don't have to have all those proofs the K1 forums pound into your head? London does not even require a tax return, which I guess you were planning since you mentioned W2. Those go as partner to a tax return. One proof is all they need.

Their website still says bring photocopies of all documents, but for quite a while now people have said they were told on the day that they don't collect photocopies anymore. And they still give back the originals.

Pay stubs

Signed letter from employer

Signed letter from the bank (they had an official immigration format for this)

Signed and completed I-134

I've made copies of all of these so they can verify them against the originals. I will just keep the copy W2.

It was easier to grab what we needed and avoid posting it while we were together. If he can send you pay stubs for your own piece of mind, ask him to drop them in the mail for you. You have time.

No worries. I would much rather be over prepared than under. It wont take me long to download and email a few pay stubs. Then he can just print them and put them in the folder.
