'Tear off' portion of EAD/AP card for renewal

Hi there,

Trying to renew the EAD/AP card and every checklist I see refers to a 'tear off' portion of a sheet the EAD came on. Well, as it is, we've lost the page. Is it necessary? Can we just copy the card front and back or what?

EAD renewal requires only a copy of the front and back of the current EAD, together with a copy of your I-485 receipt NOA show it's still pending.

So just:

- Copy of EAD/AP card front and back

- Copy of I-485 NOA1

- I-131 & I-765 forms filled out

- Passport photos for each

Would that do it? I've been seeing conflicting lists all over the place... We've got the passport photos and everything else ready to go.

No. If you already have valid biometrics on-file they will just be re-used for the I-765 renewal.

Biometrics, once captured, are valid for 15 months.

You will receive biometric appointment letter as well as many of us. However, they only did one of my finger.

Is it OK to just reuse the original filled out forms from the I-485 package? Nothing has changed.

Your I-765 answers are going to be slightly different. The application type at the top is now "Renewal of my permission to accept employment", and not "Permission to accept employment". You also have to answer Question 11.

The I-131 seems to contain no changes though, so you can probably just copy that.

One additional question concerning the I-765 for renewal. We went to China this year for Chinese New Year - returned to the US 2/28/2015 at Chicago Airport. So do I change question numbers 12/13 to that date/place? Would question 14/15 change to something else at this stage of the game (currently K-1 Fiancee)? I-485 interview waiver letter recipient August 2014.

No. Parole isn't entry, it's parole. The form specifically asks your last entry, which has not changed.

And she is still under the K-1 Fiancee Visa until the I-485/Green Card is granted, right?

Sorry for the 20-questions. One last for the I-131 renewal. Do I use her passport information or her new married name as we did on the I-765 form? I noticed my lawyer used her maiden name and not married name. Will it cause a problem with airport immigration if I change it to her married name without a passport change?

Also, do I select yes for Part 3 question 4.a? I am guessing no, but want to be sure.
