Ongoing Relationship Evidence - Facebook message count

Can someone answer my question please., if the some of the chat/emails is written on different language will it need to be translated or is okay and can be sent to NVC without translating.

.

I don't think the NVC will request chats/emails, especially for a K-1 visa.

Do you mean for the Interview in the fiancé's country?

I think translating things would be helpful, especially if the person interviewing the fiancé does not speak this foreign language.

I personally had a similar situation back when I applied for the AOS. I ended up not sending them. Instead I sent greeting cards we shared with each other, pictures, letter explaining the relationship, notarized affidavits etc. I think they will don' t read the content especially since they focus more on other areas of your application.

Our Facebook chat log had over 90k messages, so I feel your pain:D I have found some app on the Internet that lets you download your Fb log history and used it. Then I started picking out parts of our talks from different periods of time (one extract per week or fortnight, I don't really remember) to show continuing communication. It took me hours but the Officer didn't even ask for these logs or any other proof I had with me and approved my visa very easily.

Hey Everyone,

My fiance and I chat a lot on Facebook because its free. How do I go about obtaining a log counting the frequency of our conversations? IS there a way to get a log?

It sounds like the one I use, called SocialSafe. There is a free version and a cheap paid version (around $6 per year). You can save your messages in PDF files and print the pages you want. It is an app you install on the computer, not a mobile app, but it is great.

My chat is mixed but i'm sending it that way.I'm sure they'll concentrate more on the dates on the chat logs more than the chat content.

Ok, great. Thanks

I used "Message Saver". And it gives a lovely clouds background to messages lol

I don't know if this Message Saver is safe to use or anything, but I have not encountered any problems after using it (and it was in June 2014). Changing a password after might be a good idea though

Hi,

What is the app called that counts the number of messages in FB?

Also, how are you gathering the skype logs? I was trying to find a way to get historicals of the hours or home many time have I spoken to my Fiance, by no results so far.

To get the skype log, just simply copy all the messages in the message area where is says

Call to [name] 10:41

Call ended duration 1:45

....

....

Just right click and "select all' then copy and paste them into Word or other word processing program.

For me I had to get some of them from my Fiance, but hers are in Spanish, luckily when you change the language in skype to English it also changes all the Call info to English and vice-versa.

My fiance and I will be using different types of evidence of ongoing relationship such as:

  • Skype logs
  • Western Union Emails - showing money sent to beneficiary.
  • Gift receipt emails - showing gifts such as flowers sent to beneficiary.
  • Facebook Relationship page. (shows when we became friends on FB)
  • Facebook Engagement Announcement.

And of course the Met in Person evidence used with the original I-129f application, (I only visited her once) - Photos, Passport stamp(s), Hotel Receipts, Flight Receipt, Itinerary, etc.

We also want to use Facebook messages, but we have over 65,000 messages for the past year. Not all of them are actual messages, they contain stickers as well. It would be very difficult to sift through these 65,000 messages, but there is an app page on Facebook that shows the total message count of the people you message with.

My question is, would it be sufficient enough to include a copy of the page with just the message count as evidence of an ongoing relationship instead of a log of the actual messages?

Think quality over quantity.

They are looking for solid bona fide relationship evidence.

Massive count of something that they can't make a judgement on

is probably worth little value.

A better way to get your log is to install a program called SkypeLogView, just google it..

It will find your skype main.db file and list all your calls

For Facebook messages, you can just log on the mobile version of Facebook on your desktop. My fiancee and I included chat logs from Facebook to complement our e-mails. We chose the chat logs when we were introduced, his plans to visit me, etc.

When you browse mobile Facebook on your desktop (m.facebook.com) you can actually change the message number or page number, so you can choose chat logs per month. Then, you just screenshot the logs, copy and paste them on MS Word, and print them.
