Change Interview Location

Hello everyone!

I have an important question and I would like someone to give me a good advice..

I have won the dv-lottery of 2014 and after a very long wait, I got an interview appointment in Amman, Jordan, May the 7th... So the Problem:

I'm Syrian (There is no US-Embassy in Syria) and I'm not allowed (like all other Syrians) to step foot in Jordan... This will definitely be impossible to overcome.. the only way is to change the interview location to Beirut, Lebanon (as I actually requested in the DS-260 Form).. so how can I resolve this really worrying issue? Whom to contact und can I do that at all?

I think you should try contatcing both KCC and the Jordan embassy, ASAP. And try call rather despite the cost of an international call, this may delay your interview anyway but you will want to sort it out as soon as you can.

So I called the KCC and the lady told me that you can't select where you want to be interviewed and that the interview must be only in Syria! I told her that there is no embassy at all, then she said, well, then in Jordan.. I said that it is completely impossible for a Syrian to go there.. then she said that I really should talk to the interviewing office (Jordan) and explain the situation (I asked her that is it possible to change location, she said yes and Jordan can give the case to Lebanon to handle it).

I called the us embassy in Amman, and the moment I said that I won the lottery and that I am from Syria, they said "and you're calling because you can't come, right?" I said yes, but they said that the consular department is closed and that I have to call on Sunday to get the right answer...

So I am waiting for Sunday and hoping that there is a solution.

Can you please give us an update about what happened to you?

My relatives won the 2017 lottery, they are Syrian and still lives in Syria, they requested the interview to be at Beirut/Lebanon in the DS-260 application, after talking to Kentucky center they said the interview will be in Amman regardless of their request.

Looking at the US embassy website, they mentioned that they'll inform the Jirdanian authorities about the applicants who are coming from Beirut airport through Jordanian airlines which could help them enter Jordan but they can't gaurantee that.

We talked to the Jordanian Embassy in Beirut and they told us that they'll need somebody in Amman to apply for them for a permission to enter Jordan from the Ministry of interior.

Was anybody Syrian successful in doing an interview recently for DV lottery program or for an immigration application in Amman and traveled from Beirut airport ? or do you know somebody Syrian went through this? Please get me connected with him ASAP.

My relative case number in 2500 range, any chance for them to be interviewed in October 2016?
