Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction?

Hello everybody,

I applied form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative as a green card holder in June,2014 and I’ve upgrade my petition to immediate relative on November 23, 2014. It has been almost 8 months and I received notification below.
Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction
On March 24, 2015, we transferred your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiancé (E), or Orphan, Receipt Number EAC…, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice.
I have no idea what’s going on. Is there anybody who know what it is or happened before? Is it good or bad? Please give me detailed info if you have any.
Please advice.
Thanks

I HATE them. is it too much to ask for them to clearly inform you exactly where your i130 was routed to? Why would you need to wait for sail mail?

On a happier note, I am very excited to see your case is moving forward. This kind of movement shows that at least someone is looking at your file. With a little luck, it will be a matter of weeks until you are approved.

Best,

UnaMexicana

I also received an email on 24th March stating that my case was transferred. Seems like we are all from MD/DC/VA area. Read the link posted by PrincessBM and it appears that its a good thing that our case was transferred.

The notice explains why we transferred your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by December 10, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. A quick google search and i found this:

"“The Potomac Service Center (PSC) will process applications and petitions to help balance workloads and add capacity. The agency’s existing service centers in Texas, Nebraska, California, and Vermont are operating at maximum capacity,” A USCIS spokesperson said in a statement to Breitbart News"

so we could be transferred there, although there seems to be no timeline information from this new service center obviously....hopefully its much faster than normal...HOPEFULLY

Lets hope and pray so. I couldn't wait and I called up USCIS and they said they don't know where is my case transferred to and the mail send to me will have all the information.

Lets wait for the mail. Good luck to you too. I will post any info I get of PSC.

After your case is transferred, does it still get processed based on the priority date ? Or is there some transfer date or something of that sort.

I Also got the same thing when I checked my status online. Same as you mine was sent on nov 10, from the Texas service center. I'm hoping they'll send it to a faster moving center like California service center.

Please keep me updated!!
