i-1864 and 1-1864A question

Hi everyone,

My sister is sponsoring her husband and has never worked, she was a high school student, so her income is 0.

I am single and share the same residence as my sister. My income is $22,832. As we were filling out form i864 for her, I realized we didn't meet the federal poverty level for 3 household members which is $25,112.

Now my question is can we also include our other sister, who shares same residence to fill out 1-864A... Her income is about $12,000. Which will get us total $37,112 and federal poverty level for 4 is $30,312.

Or should we both be joint sponsors to our sister whose income is 0? Which method is better?

It is only possible to have one joint sponsor, not two for your sister's case. Furthermore, your sister has no income to combine with you or the other sister which precludes use of the I-864A.

Unless you are married or claim anyone as a dependent on your tax return, your household size would be 2 (you and the intending immigrant). You would not count either of your sisters in your household size.

You count yourself and your sister's husband (the intending immigrant).
