Asian markets online

Does anyone know of online sites that will ship Asian/Oriental produce to the Pittsburgh, PA area? I have found basic supplies but no produce. Just wanting to avoid the trips into Pittsburgh for a few vegetables or fruits. I am not to worried about shipping costs, just eliminate the time and hassel of going to town.

i suggest this -

go into town, study the wholesalers that are delivering to the asian stores- watch the trucks roll in, talk with the drivers, get the managers' names and numbers - ask them to prepare a shipment to you once a week. sure, you'll need to know the exact names of things, in chinese, vietnamese, thai, etc...

they will deliver lesser quantities for a fee, but in general, you have to have a conversation with the right guy - usually getting the name of the manager from the driver, and a good contact number. it's quite possible the manager not speak much english, so be prepared for that.

it all goes against the pattern, many asian people shop for fresh produce and vegetables DAILY, so the idea of once a week, to stock up, goes against the pattern. I hope it's not a main cause for consternaton in your household. i can see it easily becoming a time and money issue if no resolution/compromise is found.
