Do we know the average review time from a supervisor? Should we do that tomorrow afternoon or Monday? It's only been 70 days though.

We haven't brought up anything since it did nothing for us. At this point, we just want answers.

What happened to your case?

You know, I have seen various accounts from 5 days to five weeks with the supervisor review, so I suppose you are taking a chance. Like I said, this is not first hand knowledge, just stuff I've picked up dredging this board. However, it seems with the NVC you really never know. It also seems to depend on the agent you get, so if you get a nice one, maybe it's worth asking. Someone else on the board posted that they got a nice agent who was going to look into it for them (and they have waited beyond the 60 days too).

My case is my fault. I got a weird email telling me that they received nothing from us, and when I called (three weeks and a half into the case being scanned), they told me I had to resend it all, so I panicked and did. This means my CC MAY be delayed by more than three weeks (just like Two Chickies), which puts me in a time frame that creates real havoc with our lives. I should not have, I should have known the agent was full of C…P and just bided my time.

I just feel when you are beyond the 60 days they advertise, it's not uncalled for to check. If you feel like you need to wait, you could just wait until next week. Also, if you feel like you get an agent who you connect with, you could ask, otherwise, just get whatever info you can and hang up:)

LOL So I am breaking my own promise to myself and posting :) But only because your post was so nice and encouraging! And also because I TOO am working on not becoming unglued;)

Just wanted to say thank you!! Any news from Steven and Alice? Did you guys ask for a supervisor review yet?

LOL sorry to bring you out of hibernation! Just wanted you to know you weren't alone!

Congrats Steven and Alice! And ooh, that's good news on them starting to schedule the May interviews. I haven't heard anything yet. Hoping I will get a May interview. I'm terrified I was late enough in March I won't get anything until June, but it seems like that would be unusual for Montreal, so I'm hopeful.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

I bet! You probably thought you were dreaming!! haha

Someone who goes by the name boardercrosser got an interview for May 15. I don't know their whole story but they have been stuck at the NVC for a very long time and just finally got through because of their congressman. The link to the Canadian thread is:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/499883-nvc-thread-for-canadians/page-61

People post reviews of their interview experiences in Montreal (someone just went last week) which may be helpful to you and they discuss the best places to get your medical done (in certain areas)...etc. Check it out!

Thank you! I am worried about the same thing too. Ashamed to say I haven't researched much about the embassy/interview stage. We dont know if they do interviews the whole month. It will be great if we both get a late May date! Wonder when we will get notice about interview or we have to call NVC in like 2 weeks to find out.

Haha yeah! I shrieked and told my husband to log on too to confirm. It's like we read about it all the time and we all expect to see that sometime but when it happens we still get all emotional about! lol

Thank you for the link. I will read up on them too.

I heard its quick for Montreal interview. In and out within 2 hours if line up before 7 am.

I'm more concerned about applying for EI and declare assets/cash at POE since CAD is so low. I wonder if we can take all CAD as is and deposit it as CAD in the states and wait it out....

It is allowed. My bank, when I talked to them, have said that they can convert my account to a savings account when I leave so I won't have service fees.

No problem! Talk to your bank, that's the important part. I'm with RBC so I can receive EI into my (what will be) savings account and transfer money out once a month, without penalty, to my US account (with the same bank) and then I can write a cheque to myself for my USAA account (no service fees!) and keep my money there. Once I am done with EI, I will convert my RBC US account to a savings or possibly close it.

Such great information!! Thank you so much! I'm with Scotiabank so I will look into if they have something similar. If not, maybe I'll be switching to RBC haha

I literally switched to RBC to be able to do this. I was with PC Financial, but I needed the cross-border banking option and only a handful of banks have that. RBC has it. TD has it. I don't know about anyone else. I had a tonne of bad experiences with TD, personally, due to having some unusual financial circumstances (and an ex whose mother worked for the higher levels of the bank and who I know likes to watch her childrens' exes finances all smug-like and I didn't want her to see mine), so I figured I'd give RBC a chance. So far they haven't let me down.
