Machete-Wielding Man Shot at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport

A man wielding a machete and a can of wasp spray entered Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport today and was shot by an officer as he threatened TSA agents near a checkpoint, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said.

The suspect was identified as Richard White, 63, a taxi driver, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand said in a press conference Friday night.

The officer fired three shots, one of which grazed a bystander. Two other people received minor injuries fleeing the scene. Three TSA agents were injured in the confrontation with the assailant. The suspect sustained three gunshot wounds to his chest, face and thigh, officials said.

Two TSA officers were sprayed with the wasp repellent and the other received an injury from the machete.

“At approximately 8:00 p.m. CDT, a female Supervisory Transportation Security Officer (STSO) at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport was assaulted in the public area outside of Checkpoint B. The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” the Transportation Security Administration said in a statement.

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

Which is all the more troubling... What would a black man be doing in New Orleans, of all places?

Apparently this Christian man was intent on doing some damage and hurting people...

 I knew it was somebody black. That's the only thing that wets your pamper.

The man had no gun. Clearly this is racism

Not racism this time. The man actually lived. lol

I know! Why was he there?

Please do not let this be a bad representation on all Christians. Just because he was a Christian and committed this atrocious act, other Christians do not deserve to be stereotyped because of this one man's actions.

I don't see the Christian leaders, or anyone in the Christian world denouncing his actions, ergo they must be acquiescent.

I understand. You mean Jehovah's Witnesses are to Christianity what extremists are to the Muslim faith.

He was a Jehovah's Witness - which is generally not considered Christian (we could debate this for ages I'm sure)
