Hey just wondering if anyone else has had experience with something like this. I have noticed people talking about all the things that have to be done after moving down such as SSN and Drivers License, etc. I already have an Indiana drivers license, but no SSN. Anyone think that this will end up causing me a problem? or am I ahead of the game?

coming from Canada. couldn't you just exchange it for an american one. I had to do the full written and road test before i got my license.

Dont think you will have any issue;s else they would have told you when you got it.

You wont have an issue. Normally you need an SSN to get a driver's license.

oh ok thanks. Normally you have to get an SSN yes, but I was a student at the time and since I was F-1 I was ineligible for an SSN and I had to get a letter from the social security office stating that I was ineligible for them to waive that part of the application. I suppose after I do get my SSN now I will have to somehow get that changed...hopefully that doesn't cause a problem now I know government likes to have everything just so...

it's a state issue, not a federal one. Immigration is a federal issue.

But usually you can sign a document stating that you are not eligible for a SSN and they will exclude the SSN, That is what I was told in Texas...

This was already explained.
