For CR-1 you should receive a "notice of intent to revoke" NOIR - for your petition. It will take several months to arrive to your wife. It will list reasons they denied the spousal visa. She will have to send in evidence very quickly to prove that reason "invalid". If USCIS believes that the evidence she provides is sufficient to re-issue, they will send it back to Accra and schedule another interview. From what I understand, this does happen, but it's probably a 50/50 chance. Don't expect it anytime soon. If you proceed, expect at least 1-3 years.

I can speak about Accra Embassy as I recently received the same notice for my (then fiancée's) interview. They are big on face time, or time spent together. We dated for over a year and had two - one week visits. This was not enough, and in fact, I was there for my third visit just to be told she was denied. I was present at the follow up interview, which was not an interview at all, but a straight denial. The CO wouldn't tell me why, and would barely look me in the eye. The fact was, (and is in your case too) she knew she was going to deny the whole time. IF they have any "bad feelings" about the relationship, they will ask foolish questions that the beneficiary can never know the answer to, so they deny based on the interview. But the real reason is they doubt or question the relationship. The most important thing is time spent together, and not moving too quickly on the relationship. These can almost assure a denial in Accra. If they revoke the petition, you should have her file again, but plan on spending time together, not just one more visit. Maybe a few weeks at a time, as I plan on doing. We will file the CR1 and I will try and spend 2 weeks in Ghana this summer to be with my wife. So I will have four visits before the CR1 interview and I'm still worried it may not be enough for them. It's very difficult, but if you love each other, keep trying. I feel your pain........I am living it now. I'm sorry for your bad experience and I hope that I have given some good advice, although it is just my experience. I am far from an expert.

The first problem is you're going through Ghana, which, thanks to your fellow countrymen preceeding you, is notoriously one of the most difficult embassies in all of the world to get approved through.

I believe the largest issue at hand is that your only actual physical time together has been 6 days, on the second of which you got married on. Huge red flag for that embassy.

The second flag is that you're both of different religions, which as I understand it from other posts here is generally frowned upon in Nigerian culture. It's one of those things that counts for a lot more going through Lagos than through most other embassies.

Third is the age difference. For *most* countries this wouldn't be seen as much of an issue, however for Nigeria and the focus on family and children there, again, as I understand the culture, this compounds hugely against you with the other flags to your case, especially since she's getting towards the age where Shark Week ceases.

Considering all these it's little wonder it was denied. Some of these things you can work on, others you cannot.

To apply in the future, she should consider many and as frequent as possible trips to see you over the next couple of years, so you have solid face time to show the embassy. The chances of you getting a tourist visa to go see her are slim to none, in my opinion.

Or, you two can work on her moving to Nigeria to be with you, which would be exceptionally easier.

Those are pretty much your options, as I see them.

He is in from the Ghana Embassy, not Nigeria. Just so most people know Lagos actually issue more visa then deny, they have the statics posted. Sometimes its other issues that most people on here don't talk about. My cousin married an Egyptian; he was Muslim and she was Christian. They met she proposed and went back 3 months later to marry him. She taught him how to speak English, he passed his interview with much success. They have a 10 year age gap. They are still happily married with a little boy 8 years later.

Don't give up hope. I myself met my husband online and we talked a while and he proposed. I said yes and waited until May to go see him and married him; I did stay over two weeks and have went back two other times.

However, it's people who meet online and marry after only knowing each other 3 months and they have passed their interviews at the Lagos Embassy (go figure).

It's just that you will have to prove the relationship even further... Good luck and blessings to you... stay strong..

You are correct, I was evidently thinking of two different places while replying, had too many other things going on.

But, the rest of the content stands.

1. Too little face time in real life, (fraud indicator)

2. Marriage too quick after meeting (fraud indicator)

3. Different religions

Your case was returned due to the 3 red flags and they do not believe you are a genuine couple.

Your wife will receive a NOID/NOIR letter from USCIS in about 2-4 months. She has to answer this letter and convince USCIS so they will

send it again to Ghana for another interview. Then you have to convince the CO again that you are genuine.

How best to do so ?

She needs to make plans now to visit you and include the evidence (boarding pass, receipts, photos) in the NOIR letter and she needs to

come up with a few affidavits from your and her family and friends who can attest that your relationship is true love/genuine besides other

ongoing proof that you are the real thing. She can also say that she referred to her boss just as 'my boss' and not by name if that is the truth

or if she typed the name of her boss in submitted chats then she can perhaps explain why you didn't think of it.

Maybe you forgot or were nervous.

Whatever they see as an issue (visits, religion, age gap ) she should address these issues in a letter.

She then should be with you at the next interview to show her support for you.

Yes, it's expensive to travel and get vacation days but if you want to be together you have to make financial plans somehow to make it happen.

This is not an easy road.

No you can't get married again as you are already married (with a legal marriage certificate I hope),

she would just file again if USCIS will deny the petition.

Most of the time, if the petitioner deals correctly with the reasons of refusal in the NOIR letter, couples are approved at the next interview.

Come back here and let us know what exactly the NOIR letter will say when she gets it.

Good thing you filed a CR1 because a K1 will be purposely expired and that is it and they have to file again.

CR1 = another chance most of the time.

Get busy making plans for her to visit and work on the evidence ahead of time because she will have limited time to answer the
NOIR ( Notice of Intent to Revoke).

Best wishes, all is not lost !

At this point a senator/congressman can not help except to let you know when the case was returned or what your status is. As soon as the case leaves

the embassy that ship has sailed and no one can overturn it.

A good immigration attorney can help guide the NOIR letter response but ultimately each couple will know

best how to answer it and an attorney can only put out what you tell him of your individual circumstances.

That is diplomatic pouch number. A senator can also get that number for you, some embassies will not communicate with the petitioner/beneficiary.

Every case has it's own time table from letter to second interview.

the first time 2 ppl meet face to face...the question would be why

not wait for another visit, to the CO it may seem like a business

arrangement regardless how many evidences you have, from that

embassy there have been many horror stories the CO knows about,

if its legit stay with your heart & just do what you have to do to

make tings right...you need patience, your wife can visit again, I

The co may have horror stories but they lie! Too! You can have every proof of marriage and pictures and plane tickets, but the bottom line that I have witness is that if the co has a bad day or bad attitude your pretty much done! I also googled the co who interviewed us and I have concerns with her from some of her pass work ethics from a different embassy and a court proceeding.

Time spent together is crucial when going through the Embassy in Ghana. Yes it is hard to get a visa but when you have all the evidence and your relationship is real and you prove that to the CO. You will get your visa!!!

Several red flags, 6 days and then married.

The age difference, especially the woman older than the man.

Lets hope and pray, that USCIS approves this, and you get the visa.
