I received biometrics appointment notice today and the appointment is on 3/27. it says i have to bring a I.D or passport does that have to be VALID? or EXPIRE will work too.

I would think your ID would need to be current not expired. Why chance it??

Be sure to bring your marriage certificate! I know it doesn't tell you in the letter....but they will possibly turn you away and make you reschedule your appointment!

I and others have been through this. We thankfully did not get turned away, but they sure hassled us enough.

thank you guys will send the passport for urgent renew on Monday since i cant get the I.D renew.

No need. The other two replies are incorrect. You can use your expired passport to enter the USCIS office for your biometrics appointment. Others have done so in the past. Take your passport, other expired ID, birth certificate and marriage certificate. They just need you to be able to prove you are the person listed on the biometrics letter, so those should cover it with a dose of overkill.
