making appointment for embassy interview

My fiance just turned in her application for her passport at dfa pampanga. They are telling her it will take a month to process her paperwork, which is contrary to what they say on their website which says 7-10 days. Can i make her interview appointment even though we don't have a passport number, just a receipt? I don't want to wait a month and then make an interview appointment and it ends up being another month or two. Additionally, her noa2 says it is valid until 5/8/15. Are we going to have a problem?

She will need her passport for her medical which she has to do before her interview. She will also need her passport number to make her appointment for her interview, so i would say Yes you have to wait.

Better wait for the passport. Why didn't she do all this back when you were still waiting for NOA1?

No you can not make the appt until you have the passport, the passport # is required. Need to be patient and wait.

Don't worry about the validity of the NOA2, the embassy will extend that validity up to a year automatically.

A month for a passport? That is crazy...pampanga is just 4 hours from manila. Maybe she have better chances if she go to DFA manila directly.

She went to the dfa at megamall and they said the same thing. That is why she decided to try pampanga. The dfa's website is inaccurate apparently.

There is a increased fee that you can pay to have it expedited. Might be worth it to you. Website reports that fee as 1,200Php

The DFA website says 20 days for regular processing and 10 days for expedited processing. Then you add in the mailing days and you get near what is being told. No brainer.

They are always going to over commit so not to disappoint or cause many inquires. It's a game that everyone pays and you are no stranger to that here in USA.

She'll probably get the passport first week of April. Then she can do medical a day or two after that and at the same time schedule the USEM interview. The USEM appointment calendar has had many openings over the past several months. CFO either before or after the USEM interview. You'll most likely get all of that done before May.

Our NOA2 expired well before our interview because we did DOT at SLEC. USEM auto-extended the NOA2 to cover us. Regardless, I suspect you'll complete everything before your's expires.

Sounds like some government big wig who didn't anticipate and therefore the little people have to suffer. Government at it's best.
