writing on passport

Ugh so I was at a concert last night, my fave singer was singing autographs, I had nothing but my passport on me, I had a few drinks and thought what a good idea!

I'm guessing the immigration officer in the embassy aren't going to put a permanent residency stamp in it, are they?

Do you reckon my passport is now void?

Will I just get a new one? I've already sent in my biographic data page, so know there is about 4 years left on it - will this be a problem?

Should I just say I lost my passport?

I swear to God only this ####### could happen to an Irish person!

Yeah that was not the best move.... what part did he sign, and how big? Are there empty pages left where a visa could be attached?

Ah it was only a page sure, the visa pages at the back just one page, on nothing official.

Sure I might just get a new passport now so I don't have to worry about renewing it in 4 years, around the time I'd be getting a US one anyway!

In Ireland you can get a new one anytime without reason...

Getting a new one won't effect the immigration process anyways will it, I'd bring the old one to the interview in case it did!

Getting a new passport should not be an issue, people do that all the time because it expires or gets stolen or they loose it...

No CO in any Embassy or Consulate nor any border control officer in any country will place a stamp on a signed visa page. Whether or not this invalidates the passport, you would need to check wth the passport issuing authority in Ireland.

Hahaha what do you do with the drunkin sailor.... it was a country concert, all the big names from Nashville in Ireland, was great fun, and really something we would never see out of the south, and to be honest we have seen some of the artists before in Florida, and they were a heck of a lot of better here, maybe its the guinness!!

Ah there are plenty of blank visa pages its just one at the back of the passport, but probably doesnt leave a great impression explaining it away to the CO haha

I found this hilarious, exactly what I would have done!

To the person above me- I always carried around my passport in my home country, some people do that, it's pretty normal in some countries.

But yeah get a new passport, you wouldn't want it to be a problem and risk it.

In the UK (a little different to Ireland), if you don't have a driving permit then you would use your passport to prove your age when buying age restricted products. There isn't really a national ID card.
