We recently did our ds 160 and i paid the visa fee. Accidently I paid the wrong visa fee for $160 when its suppoed to be $265 for k1. They should make this more clear when you go to pay it instead of a non descriptive drop down set to one payment automatically. Anyways I called and they refused to refund the fee or make it easy to apply what i already paid and made good on the difference. I ended up arguing with them for 30 minutes over it. I ended up just repaying the full visa fee and los

sing my $160. I thought this whole situation was weird.why no refund even if I am repaying full amount. Are these people who set the appointments consular officers or are they just office workers that set the appintments. I am paranoid now because I argued with them about refund and or applying what was paid. I am worried about them messing with my fiance now during the interview because I argued with them for 30 minutes and was quite upset over the process. Maybe its just normal pre interview anxiety/ paranoid but I am concerned about it.

I had a problem where I couldn't even get to that bloody payment page. My Immigration Lawyer basically had to phone the embassy and they gave her the page address to manually type in.

However, then I had the same problem as you and I was given the wrong fee amount. Once again the lawyer phoned the embassy and they said I could just pay the remainder at the interview. That was perfectly fine on the day. I'm surprised they never even gave you that option.

That is upsetting to hear. I asked them for any way to resolve the issue. They never offered for me to pay the difference on interview day. I had to wait another 24 hours to request appointment date as well. I am furious with what they put me through.
