I AM NOT THAT GUY

In northern Syria, is the US running out of rebel allies?

None, then. Thanks.

You eliminate the obvious, how can I take you question seriously. Both wars were won. Saddam was removed from office, the Taliban are no longer in charge. If you are a Shi'ite, or a Kurd, you are better off than you were before. Afghan women are not being stoned in soccer fields. Now that the Bath Party (IS) has resurged in the area and things are beginning to deteriorate in Afghanistan, the obvious conclusion is that Obama screwed the pooch. Twice.

Blame the firefighters for the water damage, instead of the arsonist.

So you actually bought that nonsense?

Perhaps he was too busy tracking down and neutralizing bin Laden and got distracted with Syria...

i'm sure osama was on the 7th green.

ISIS have taken hold. You'd have to be a fool to believe that to be victory. General Custer would have been proud

If you are thinking of Little Big Horn the Injuns won the battle but lost the war.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Not really. In many places, the Iraqi army just ran from their positions. There was no vacuum, so much as there was no opposition. So much for victory really, but then again, that is another lost war many would rather forget.

ISIS filled the vacuum left behind.

The mythological vacuum was created by US personnel who didn't die in the war and returned home, many of whom, after serving on several tours. These were replaced by the Iraqi army, which was supplied and trained with the money we had to borrow from China, which created a monster deficit. The rationale of many is that our armed forces should have stayed in Iraq, no matter the cost in lost lives, instead of letting the Iraqis defend their own country. But who cares? Blame it on Obama. It's easier, faster and it makes the motley crew sleep better at night by pinning it all on the black guy.

Right. And what created that vacuum?
