Hi guys,

I know this topic was discussed multiple times here, but I am still confused. Instructions to form I485 state that if the exam was taken within the past year, than a new one is not required, and we can just include our vaccination supplement.

A lot of people write hear about taking their exam and this confuses me. Do K1 holders need it or not?

Thanks for help!

K-1 applicants do not need to go through another medical exam. You just need to include a copy of 3025 with the "US Vaccinations COMPLETE" box checked.

You should be able to get this from the Consular Physician the applicant had their medical evaluation done with.

Much has been discussed on this for sure...Nich Nick has done some serious digging into this matter

and a quick summary (hopefully I'm paraphrasing here correctly) is...

The K1 visa beneficiary would had the medical exam and received necessary vaccinations

and the results are captured in DS-3025 which should be included in the packet that

beneficiary turned in during POE.

(Assuming that DS-3025 is filled out correctly and satisfies the requirements...in many cases it should)

that packet should make its way back to the USCIS and get merged with your case,

and if that is all good, then additional (costly) medical exam and vaccination (I-693) transcription

is not needed.

However, if they USCIS can't find DS-3025 or it's incomplete, then they may issue RFE,

at which time additional medical exam and/or vaccination may be required.

That being the case, I am currently following Nich Nick's advise and

my wife didn't get another exam or additional vaccines

and we didn't submit any additional (medical exam or vaccination) information

in our AOS/EAD/AP packet.

Thus far, EAD/AP has been approved, and AOS is still being processed (3 months so far) without RFE...

so I have my fingers crossed.

But in the worst case, if we do get RFE, yes it will chew up some time and money,

but we will deal with it then...

My understanding is that USCIS is supposed to have this already

But it may not be a bad idea to include it if one has a copy readily available.

Since we didn't send in DS-3025 (because we only had the hospital medical results

that was not in the DS-3025 form), and we are in the middle of the GC processing thus far without RFE...

it'll be interesting to see how this goes.

It would be good to hear from other AOS filers out there on

1) Did you include DS-3025 in your filing, and what was the outcome? (RFE, Approved, Pending, Rejected)

2) Did you not include the DS-3025 in your filing, and what was the outcome? (RFE, Approved, Pending, Rejected)

My understanding is that USCIS is supposed to have this already

from the packet that was turned in during POE...

The VJ guides for the K1 and AOS both state that it should be included. We made sure to have a copy of this to be safe.

You are right though, USCIS should already have it in their files... then again, they should also have most of what is asked for AOS/EAD/AP as well and they ask for it again.

We shall see, we are getting ready to send ours out, just waiting for a few bits of info we are missing.

Yes, this will be great if the people who already did AOS could share their experience

I also send only DS-3025... If I had to go see a civil surgeon, that would have slowed me a couple of weeks, and at this point I'm more concerned about getting the EAD than the GC... So I'm not too worried even if I get RFE... :)
