RFE + Traveling abroad??

Hello everyone. Just a quick question again. We received RFE and gathered all that we could to send back (there isn't much, and we have no problem if it comes down to an interview) so the problem is that deadline for RFE response is April 17th. I have to make an emergency trip back home for 2 weeks while my wife has to goto her mother's to take care of some stuff meanwhile. My question is that, should we send in response before I leave to my contry or after I come back?

RFE deadline: April 17th

Traveling: March 20 - April 5th

Any help is appreciated!!!

PS, i should be good traveling with expired GC + NOA right? No need to get a stamp on passport?

You said you are not able to find more evidences then why delaying it? Just send what you have right now and explanation letter.

I-751 interview takes forever to be scheduled so don't worry about it.

I'm in the same boat right now. Received an RFE and have plans to travel home for 1 week. I can't find any solid information about whether or not there will be any problems at border when coming back in with the extension letter and expired green card. Our deadline is in May and I plan to go next week but I still have an uneasy feeling about it. Going to call uscis tomorrow but I've heard so many stories about bad information from them. Does anyone have experience traveling with an Rfe?

The USCIS misinformation line will not be able to tell you anything not already available on www.uscis.gov.

Provided your I-751 is still pending (i.e. hasn't been denied) then you can travel internationally with your original expired green card and the original I-751 receipt / extension NOA.

UPDATE!!!

So I did travel (Qatar Airlines) from Houston Texas to middle east (Bahrain) while app is pending. Took my expired Green Card along with the extension letter. Everything went really smooooth. No issues at all. They just informed me that my card was expired and then I showed them my extension letter and that was it.

Really happy.
