Hello Visa Journey,

I wanted to ask if it was possible for me, the petitioner, to spend the rest of my finances visa process together in her home country of ecuador. TSC has truly put our relationship through significant troubles and I cannot bear to spend any more time away from my fiancé and our unborn child. I believe I can continue with the visa process but I just wanted to make sure. Would there be any trouble continuing the process because I am not in the US?

As long as you aren't jeprodising the requirements you will have no problem.

Do you have a way to be notified about petition approval or an RFE?

"Face time" counts greatly in the eyes of the [censored] Guayaquil consulate, which is not a place to trifle with. Be there on the premises when it comes time for the visa interview.

My parents will be receiving my mail so yes I will be able to be notified for either an approval or god forbid an RFE. I just want to spend time with my fiancé and not disrupt our petition in any way. I have read the stories about the infamous Guayaquil consulate. I figured it would work out better to spend time over there waiting for an interview date.

An RFE would be a golden opportunity to add extra "evidence of bona fide relationship" that USCIS would pass on to the consulate. You would send this material back along with your response to the RFE.

This I can do. I've attached over 50 pages of "evidence of bonafide relationship" so I don't expect to have a RFE. I really thought I would have had an NOA2 by now.

The 50+ pages would be for the benefit of the consulate's eyes. Any RFE would be for the USCIS requirements. However, if you've read carefully, interpreted literally, and answered completely & honestly, all should be well in terms of the USCIS side.

This waiting was torment. I was just about the last in my monthly filing group to get the NOA2. Little did I consider the consular phase, and none of us expected the hosing that we all got there. Returning to dealings with USCIS (for AOS, ROC, & Naturalization) was a pleasure, perverse though this might sound.
