Ok so my husband decided to go though an attorney to do the I-130 stuff (personally i hated her, and her attitude) and she said she was gonna mail the stuff off the next day which would be feb 11, to this day we have not received a receipt number or a NOA1 in the mail and it has been 2 weeks and 1 day today, anyone's case took that long? I've seen on here where most people's cases took like 5 days to receive the NOA1

I also made a huge mistake by hiring a lawyer. it took almost 26 days to get receipt notice. I wish I never hired him. he extremely delayed our case. I am not the only one client he has, I understand that. but he is really really slow.

he says she doesn't take calls, honestly i dont know why he chose to hand over our lives to a snob that cares little about her clients because she knows she's not getting paid

ahhhh same situation here. he doesn't answer phone, emails.

I'm not sure having a lawyer is that bad.. I hired a paid lawyer just so she can deal with the paperwork and hassle and I can avoid headaches. I was up for the paperwork myself, but my wife convinced me otherwise. Being a good husband that I am.. Haha.. I agreed.

The trick is to get a sense of legal competence when interviewing a lawyer. It's still early in our immigration journey as we await I-130 approval, but our lawyer has been so far been timely with responses to my emails and calls despite her many clients.

Hope you get your NOA1 soon. Good luck! We are all in this together..

yes, being that she is a military attorney, members of the military don't have to pay for her services
