Hi,

We sent off our packet over a month ago. It was just returned to us, with all of our forms denied because of an incorrect filing fee. We wrote a check for each of the following:

1050 for I-485

420 for I-130

380 for I-765

360 for I-131

I just checked the instructions for each form.. and this all is RIGHT. please guys help, our time to file this is already running out, and we thought we nailed it the first time. Does anyone know what is going on?!

hi

I believe that your question was already answered

you only have to pay the i130 and the i485, the rest are free when sent with the i485

so no payment for the i765 and no payment for the i131

Fees are wrong...

I485 is $1070 (985+85)

I131 and 765 are $0 if adjusting status.

Sorry, you must have looked at old fees

There is no filing fee for the I-765 or I-131 when filed with an I-485.

Bad news, you'll have to submit again. Good news, keep that $740.

EDIT:

Oh, a bunch of people replied while I was writing that.

Also, yeah, as noted, it's $1070 for the I-485.

Hi everybody, thanks for your comments. I was wrong with the 1050 check, it is 1070 and the checks are filed seperately apparently, so 985 for the form and 85 for the biometrics service fee.

As for your comments about the others being free, I have trouble confirming that in the instructions. For the 131, my wife is requesting an advanced parole, so that we may visit her family in 2016. Am I understanding correctly that if I file them both together, the 131 is free?

and for the 765, I have found no where that the form is free. please confirm for me. She is applying for ©(9) permit for the first time.

ps, thanks to all of you. I kinda posted in rage and panic, as I never hoped to see this thing pop up on my front door with 4 rejections letters. It does state that i can fix the checks and send it out again, which I knew I was going to have to do either way. Do you guys know if I have to start completely over? It says I can resend "the application", not "an" application implying I have to make a completely new giant packet of papers.

I believe someone commented above saying I would have to start over

The $1070 can all be on one check, which includes the $985 for the form and the $85 biometrics fee. On the check, as a memo, write that the check is for the I-485 application + Biometrics fee. This is how I sent mine, and there was no issue. They cashed it right away.

Unfortunately, I don't have links to the instructions to give you, but you can check what the required fees are on the USCIS website, and it will confirm that the 131 and 765 are both free when filed with the I-485 and I-130.

It's in the instructions for the forms, you shouldn't have trouble finding it...

For I-131:

If you filed Form I-485 on or after July 30, 2007, and you paid the I-485 application fee required, then no fee is required to file a request for an Advance Parole Document or Refugee Travel Document on Form I-131 if your Form I-485 is still pending, if:
1. You now hold U.S. refugee or asylee status, and are applying for a Refugee Travel Document (see Form I-131,Part 2., Application Type, Item Number 1.b.); or
2.You are applying for an Advance Parole Document to allow you to return to the United States after temporary foreign travel (see
Form I-131, Part 2, Application Type, Item Number 1.d.).
Under these circumstances, you may file Form I-131 together with your Form I-485, or you may submit Form I-131 at a later date. If you file Form I-131 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence that you filed and paid the fee for Form I-485 required on or after July 30, 2007.
For I-765:
If you filed Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, as of July 30, 2007, and you paid the Form I-485 filing fee, no fee is required to also file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the Form I-765 with your Form I-485, or you may submit the Form I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of Form I-485 as of July 30, 2007
