Got AP, no EAD ye, no combo card?

22 posts in this topic

Hi everyone,

Today I got the AP approval notice in the mail but I didn't get EAD yet so no combo card either. Does this mean that I will not get a combo card for AP and EAD or is it normal for them to first send approval notice for AP and then later a combo card too?

I sent AP and EAD applications at the same time, got NOA1 at the same time, they were also approved at the same time.

Thanks!

I got my combo card like a day before I got just my AP approval notice.

So it'll come.

Has your status online said the card has been mailed?

Online status for EAD says We ordered your new card and it's been like that since Feb 18. For AP last update was also on Feb 18 and it says my AP has been approved an that they will mail my approval notice.

Thanks for the reply!

Online status for EAD says We ordered your new card and it's been like that since Feb 18. For AP last update was also on Feb 18 and it says my AP has been approved an that they will mail my approval notice.

Okay that means your card is basically still in production, mine said that for a good few days and then changed to mailed.

It was then delivered the next day.

So don't worry, just give it a few more days.

Whew, thank you so much :)

I thought getting the AP approval notice might mean they decided to separate my AP and EAD so I thought I wouldn't get a combo card.

Thanks again!

No worries! I know how confusing it is.

When mine said ordered I thought that meant it was in the mail and was disappointed every day it didn't arrive!!

:D I know, right? Their status updates make me feel stupid lol, I always have to read them several times to fully understand them :D

You think it's safe to book a flight in 3 weeks from now? I really miss my family so I'm thinking about booking a flight before I receive the actual card, hoping 3 weeks would be enough time for me to get it in the mail?

No worries! I know how confusing it is.

I would wait until you have the card.

I think you'll have it by next week anyway.

Or at least till it says mailed because it arrives really quick afterwards.

Yeah, I know I should wait but I'm so excited to schedule it already :)

I'll be patient and wait, after not seeing them for almost 10 months I guess a few more days won't make that big of a difference :)

Thank you :)

It took ours about 9 days before it gave us a tracking number for the USPS, then you get it 1-2 days after because its sent through priority mail. When I first received the notice I looked at other timelines. You will definitely get it in less than 2 weeks.

Nov 17 2014 - USCIS texts/emails received with case number
Nov 21 2014 - Biometric letter sent to us

Dec 02 2014 - Biometric letter received (Appointment on Dec 12)

Dec 11 2014 - Biometrics done (Appointment on 12)
Dec 04 2014 - RFE letter sent to us
Dec 18 2014 - RFE letter received(Request for Initial Evidence)
Feb 04 2015 - Evidence for RFE received
Feb 10/11/19- Card being ordered, produced, mailed to us

Feb 23 2014 - Received EAD card in mail (was supposed to be 21, delay due to snow storm.)

Thanks!

I'm in the same situation.

We received AP letter yesterday, and I expect to receive the EAD/AP combo card

late this week or early next week.
