I AM SO BOARD.

IVe been here for 4 months and didn't work for 2 before we left to come here.

I had my Bio appointment exactly 1 month ago. How long is the wait generally?

This process was so quick for us. We got application to visa in hand in around 70 days so I just assumed that it would be the same despite the timeline!

LET ME WORK!! I'm going nuts!!

That's part of the reason some of us choose the CR1 route even though it's longer to visa.

That's part of the reason some of us choose the CR1 route even though it's longer to visa.

God I wish we did that! At the time getting here quicker was more important. Oh hindsight!! My wife came with me from Australia so she hasn't got work either. We're going crazy!! There is only so much hiking this lady can do and 5 times a week for a month is MY LIMIT!! Lol

You can try applying for jobs while your EAD is pending. I've heard of cases getting EAD quicker when the person had an offer from employer. You can volunteer or do an unpaid internship, that helps you build your network and possibly once you have the EAD turn that unpaid job into a paid job.

Start collecting stuff you wil need after two years, make sure all your accounts are joint, add yourself to the USC credit card accounts as secondary user so you can start building credit in the US.

Go around your neighborhood, get to know your neighbors, and local stores and etc. Join the gym? I'm running out of ideas which won't make sound like a condescending you know what :)

You filed for AOS/EAD/AP about 1 month after us.

As of yesterday, the EAD/AP card is being delivered by USPS,

so we expect to receive it in the next few days.

Therefore, using the similar timeline,

I think you are about 5 weeks from receiving the EAD card.

Enjoy the time off while you can...once you start full-time work,

it'll be hard to leave the money on the table and you will be working your butt off. :D
