TSC K1 Backlog - what can we do? (For TSC non-expedites only)

Wow that was a lot. Why don't we contact the president while we are at it. I think President Obama needs to do something about it. I just submitted mine on the 12th and I'm disappointed in the wait that is in store. We all pay the same amount of money and if your FIANCE is from the Philippines you luck up and are automatically expedited. Csc are even faster. There is a significance difference in approvals for CSC vs TSC. I hate this process!

Great job rob, putting all this info together!

I am almost 2 months into the waiting period by now and it sucks. Right now it is bearable, but a couple of weeks ago I had a major meltdown.

There are three things everyone can do even before they have been in the queue for months and start involving their representatives:

1. Sign the petition: https://www.change.o...csc-vsc-and-nsc

2. Share your story on tumblr: http://helptsc.tumblr.com/

3. File a complaint with DHS: http://www.oig.dhs.g...id=1&Itemid=133 using the following example: http://www.visajourn...44#entry7486304

Help us make some noise!

And, by the way, the user av8or1 has mailed the President two weeks ago:

I never saw that president letter in the forums, that was a great letter from av8or1, be interesting if a reply comes back, it certainly deserves one. It's so right too surely by making the legal immigration process more efficient it would have a good impact on the illegal side of things.

When filling in your timeline, please understand that all I-129F's are sent to the LOCKBOX in Texas, and then ROUTED (not transferred) to your ASSIGNED service center- the one in Texas "TSC" (not the same as the lockbox!), or the one in California "CSC". If your tracking number starts with WAC, you're at the CSC, you were not transferred! There are no transfers at this time. If your number starts with SRC you're at the TSC and that's where you will serve your entire sentence.USCIS isn't fair.

They don't care about you.

Im at TSC and it took me 74 days but that was a CR-1.. people say that was fast.. but the ones saying that are I-129 Filers...For some reason they are doing CR-1's faster than the I-129's.. Wait at least 3 months before getting upset.... I was at 2 1/2 months exactly when I got my NOA-2 from TSC ..

It's fabulous that you got your approval quickly.

I do not approve, however, of being to told whether or not I am supposed to be upset and at what timeframe, thank you. There is zero evidence that anyone who is not an expedite will get a I-129F approval in 3 months at TSC. It simply does not happen.

So, feel free to join the initiative as I believe your quick I-130 approval is out of the norm as well and everyone else just has to wait - way longer than at CSC. THIS is what the whole thing is about, not individual cases.

Well said TabeaK. rob999(and everyone really), as long as we're making a pseudo-list of what's been done to-date, the skunkworks team was busy this week. Kristin suggested the DHS online complaint thing and we roped everyone into that who would participate. Kristin also had direct contact with the ombudsman office, after emailing a copy of my white house packet. Stef attempted to get in touch with her contact who could reportedly help get the white house doc into someone's hands. Finally I sent the entire white house packet in hard copy form to the USCIS ombudsman office.

Based on the feedback I've received from congressman Carter's office, I am not giving up the fight, and I suspect that the remainder of the skunkworks team feels the same, though I won't speak for them.

Anyway, that's where things are. I've got a couple of ideas to pursue this week. We'll see what develops.

Thanks

Thanks for creating this post. I wasn't aware of the DHS online complaint form so I just submitted that. I've also signed the petition, submitted my story for the tumblr/NYT article, liked the Facebook, etc. thanks to you guys spreading the word. Feels good to do something.

As they say in Cameroon, "du courage" (some courage) to all of you.

*** Thread moved from K-1 Case Progress subforum to the USCIS Service Centers forum -- topic isn't about anyone's specific case progress, but rather about the larger picture of processing-times. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
