Do I need to AOS or continue initial process?

Hi! I began a petition for my husband's immigration while we were living abroad in 2013. June 2014 USCIS approved our I-130 petition. We began the NVC processing. I paid the fee for affidavit of support fees and we were about to start the next step for IV application processing fees, gathering documents/evidence to send to NVC when my husband's company decided to transfer him to America. As of January 2015 my husband is now on L-1 visa status through is employer and living in U.S.

What is our next step in our case?

Do we apply for Adjustment of Status, and which forms will we need to send? Or can we continue with our process through NVC?

How do we inform NVC and USCIS of adjustment of Status?

Detailed help will be much appreciated as I'm totally confused!

WOW, I guess everyone is stumped by this one.

I know virtually nothing about this, but . . . I never heard of those who filed I-130 going through NVC.

I thought those who filed K-1 or CR type went through NVC.

With I-130 . . . they are sent to Chicago Lockbox and then generally reassigned to NBC in Missouri for processing.

But I suppose I am missing something here.

You can switch to AOS now based on the approved I-130. You lose the fees already paid to the NVC, and AOS will cost you a medical and $1070 to file the I-485. Contact the NVC to explain your situation. File the I-485 with a copy of your I-130 approval notice. http://www.uscis.gov/i-485

Here is another thread that mentions other switching while already at the NVC processing stage > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/502184-possible-to-switch-to-adjustment-of-status-while-file-is-at-the-nvc-split-topic/

The I-130 is not only used by those adjusting status. They are used to petition an immediate relative that lives abroad as well. Stand alone I-130s will be sent to one of the service centers for adjudication. Once the I-130 petition is approved, they are then processed through the NVC before the intending immigrant interviews at the US consulate in their country to receive an immigrant visa. (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process) Once they enter with the immigrant visa, they become a permanent resident.

thanks KayDeeCee. So if I just continue with the consular processing it will be cheaper and my husband will have to travel back to home country to do the interview, but it won't affect is L-1 status, right? I mean basically it's our choice to do either consular processing or AOS.
