I tried to check visa status at www.ceac state.gov. However, I received the following message: Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) for the next step in the processing of your visa petition. If you have misplaced the instructions sent to you by the NVC or did not receive them, please contact us at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.htmlfor additional information.

My fees show paid and the AOS and IV package has been sent. I haven't received any additional instructions. Please tell me what you did when or what your next notification was after receiving this message?

I think I'm going to call NVC during the week. I'm not looking forward to the hold time. Lol

Your case status is not necessarily going to update as you'd expect it to. It is saying you were given instructions which is what you are in the middle of right now, no? You should probably just get comfy for the wait. Case status updates are pretty hit or miss in terms of whether they even happen. Unless something has changed recently.

The only thing checking your status on CEAC is for is "transit to embassy", "ready", "issued" or "administrative processing"

Otherwise it will say "at NVC"

Thank you. I hoped the NVC status would update to review complete. The two responses clarified some things for me. Although I don't see any of the status updates mentioned when I enter my case number. I'm still pretty close to the 60 day review timeframe. If there is no update by February 18th I will call NVC to check the status.

Remember there is a federal holiday on Monday so the NVC will not be open or working on cases that day.

I either need employment with the government or to be a child again. I have work tomorrow. Lol! I will try not to worry about checking status. NVC will let me know if something has to be corrected.

Just a heads up!!

When you sent your IV package on 1/6 did you receive an email stating to wait 60 days? You're 60 days would be from the date that your last package was scanned into their system.

I sent the DS-260 on 1/6/2015. The DS-260 takes 30 days to review. I sent the AOS and the IV package in 12/2014 BUT I did send more documents to frontload the case in 1/2015. I hope the additional frontload documents will not start the 60 day's over.

What you can keep your eye on is your AOS and IV to change to NA. That's the indicator of Case Complete.

Thanks Dwheels76. I will watch for that. Is there a quick way to find out what scan date NVC is on? That will help me determine when I should call to follow up on my case.

They don't necessarily scan in order. But you can catch up in the monthly NVC filers thread in the progress reports sub-forum.

That's good news that they may not scan in order. I will keep my fingers crossed that I didn't delay the process trying to front load the case. I just looked at Dwheels76 thread. It appears some peoples interviews are scheduled and the beneficiary has the chance to provide additional documents at the time of the interview.

What d hell could hv been happning to my case? I can see we both hav d same timeline,AOS fees paid,IV Fees paid on dec 12 but send both AOS\IV package bt still yet my IV fees still say nt paid I cannot able to fill up d DS.260,my wife colld d NVC still no chainges,

How did you pay your fees? I paid online instead of mailing the payments. The status changed to paid in less then 7 days.

I think this means a CC..and you have not yet been notified by email by the NVC.

I was habitually checking my status on the CEAC site and was able to go on. However, after I received my CC email on 02/12, I tried going back to check whether I could see anything and I got the same message. I am now awaiting the email with interview date (P4), but with two days closed (Friday and Monday are holidays, I probably wont see anything until Tuesday. I suspect that would be the case for you too.

Give them a call on Tuesday.
