I had my interview last Jan 22 2015 and eveything went smooth but i am just wondering why they didnt ask for my petitioners i134 its just odd coz i thought it was one of the most important requirement, however my status still goes to ready. i have 2 other k1 visa applicants who have gone through the same day interview and their form i134 or affidavidt of support was not also asked during the prescreening or even on the final interview with the american consul. i hope this would not cause us to get stuck from AP like how others tragic stories i have read around here.

It's strange that they didn't ask for it, but if you had any tax information within the packet like a electronic tax print out (ITR) or employment letter all showing well above the poverty level then that maybe the explanation for you and your friends pass on the I-134 by the CO's.

Worse case scenario is you get a 221-G asking for the I-134. It could delay you 2-3 weeks but no one can say for sure.

Watch your status on CEAC and you should get an idea how you are progressing. If it changes from AP to Ready to AP and then Issued you'll have no worries.

That has been happening a lot lately, not sure what is going on.

I have noticed the wording in the newest instructions letter has changed to "will be useful" , the old letter read "you should provide" or something close to that.

Hank you been doing this a lot longer than me and so you see and hear the heatbeat of the Embassy/SLEC/CFO more than I. Having said that you taught me to always expect the unexpected as the rules are in constant change.

We were not asked for any I-134, ITR, W2, bank statements, employment letters and no questions about financials at all during 14jan K1 interview.

I'm not worried about it. If they wanted to see any of that then they would have asked for it during the interview.

so far its 3 business days and my status is still Ready and as well as those 2 friends I met there who went through the same case as me. i hope this wouldnt take some time to be issued coz it wouldn cause us so much frustration and sad part two of my friends already confirmed thier tickets.

My interview was last Jan. 22nd as well. The consul didn't ask for the I134 or for any financial document of the petitioner. My status changed to ISSUED today (Jan. 27th) from READY since 22nd. Don't worry if the consul didn't ask for the petitioner's financial documents. They would have asked for the docs during the interview if they wanted to see them. :)
