Waiting for NOA 2 London

We are waiting for our NOA 2 from the London embassy. Today was the first day the website has indicated they are 2 days past the day our I 130 was received for processing times. We have started to worry as we may have forgot to put my partners parents birthdays on the I 130. If we did, it would be a terrible oversight. How does it work if we have missed something like that? Would we have already known about it? As I said before, it's been over 5 weeks. Is it declined on that basis?

Thanks for any help!!

I am sure they would contact you if something was still needed by them before they could approve your petition. Two days is nothing in immigration time. They use different calendars than the rest of the universe. :P

PS: you are waiting on NOA2 from London USCIS office. Nothing to do with the embassy yet except their office location.

Thanks Nich-Nick. Emailed USCIS today and they emailed me back within minutes to say they were still working on our I-130. I told him I was concerned we may have missed the date of birth for my partners mum and dad. He then emailed me back and said it has now been approved and they will post the NOA 2 today.

We are completely ready to go and have all of our documents in order so I was wondering if there was any way of expediting the rest of the process?? I know we now have to wait on the next packet to get the LND number, which I gather could take 3 weeks. However, do you think it would be wise to email the embassy before this time to get the LND? Also, with what you have seen, what are the usual wait times for the medical? Also, how much choice do you get in terms of the interview?

Thanks for all of your extremely helpful advice!!!

The medical people will usually have something the week following your call. Not usually a long wait for them.

The interview date and time will be picked by the embassy after they have received your DS-260. medical results, and Readiness for Interview form. Medical results take 3-4days before they go to the embassy. Embassy may take 2-3 weeks to give you the interview date which is most likely 3 more weeks in the future. It can be faster if they aren't real busy.

To be honest, I don't really know how DCF people get their LND number. Use the contact form to successfully contact the visa unit at the embassy. http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html. Give them some time to get your file from the USCIS office. It won't likely be there the next day. The wheels turn slower than you wish.

The LND number arrives in a single page letter from the Embassy. Ours came about twelve weeks after we sent in the I-130.

Thanks!

So we just received our letter from the Embassy stating our LND number and that they have received our packet from USCIS and are now processing it. Can't really believe it as we only received the self addressed envelope from USCIS that our I-130 was approved 2 days ago!

Does this mean we can now book the medical and fill in the DS-260? Is this considered NOA 3?

Thanks for everyone's help!

Yes book your medical if you already have your police certificate. The medical people want to see it. Doesn't your letter give you a webpage or link to instructions? See this step by step http://london.usembassy.gov/ds2001.html

The instructions and acknowledgement from the embassy visa unit is considered Packet 3 for your VJ timeline.

Thanks!!!

We have just completed the DS-260 and will now book the appointment and send the application readiness form today (if we get the medical booked).

In terms of the A number, when do we get that? It's not on packet three and we need it for the I-864.

Sorry for all the questions but thank you so much for your help!!

Don't know. We had a traditional petition filed in the US and it is printed on NOA2. It is assigned by USCIS, so try contacting USCIS London office the way you did while waiting on NOA2 if it isn't anywhere on the NOA 2 communication.
