By the time I file for my fiance, we would have known each other for 8 months. Can anyone who filed early in the relationship share if they had any issues or did it not matter?

We filed 2.5 months after we met and I've seen many shorter instances here on VJ site.

8 months is plenty of time...but it's more of quality of evidence than quantity when

Like others have said - depends. High risk countries known for visa hounds are looked at closer than others. Filing isn't the issue - convincing the interviewer its real is.

These are two of the best answers that you could possibly get.

Santo Domingo is NOT an easy consulate. Read "Reviews: Embassy" and "Embassy Info" (links atop any VJ page). I recommend that you have another quality visit before you file your I-129F petition, and that you front-load the petition with extra "proof of bona fide relationship" when you do file. Bear in mind that your presence at the eventual visa interview is just about mandatory.

If you want some true horror stories, albeit from elsewhere, here are some from my time:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/110313-us-consulate-in-guayaquil-ecuador/

The lesson that I've chiefly remained around VisaJourney to impart is this: Do NOT (do not!) underestimate the consular phase of the process, and do everything possible to ease your experience in advance.
Here's a broader thread about my I-129F/K-1 experience in general:

You're right. I guess I should have given more thought when I responded. I definitely don't want the OP getting the wrong impression about this process. I put a boatload of evidence right into my I-129F & then sent about twice as much additional evidence to my Fiancee to bring to the interview, even though I didn't have to. Consulate in Germany is pretty lenient, but I certainly didn't want to take that for granted. Every case is different & each case should be treated with utmost importance & diligence. My apologies OP.

^This. And you also have to consider if you're coming from a high risk country, meaning one that has a lot of fraud for marriage visas just to get into the US and become a citizen. If it is, you will be under a lot of scrutiny if your relationship developed quickly and if you haven't had a lot of face to face time together. While you're in this process I would recommend seeing each other a few more times after sending in your paperwork. You definitely want to have a lot of proof that you have gone to your fiance's country and vice versa. It might not matter right now when you send in the paperwork, but it definitely will matter once you have the interview.

We met in August 2014 and I went to visit this past December for a week. My plan is to go in April and then file when I come back. By then I should have good amount of supporting evidence of our relationship.

Types of documentation include:

1. Photos together. More variety the better. With family members too if possible. My fiancee and I have traveled a fair amount together, and so she'll be bringing photos we took from a few different places.

2. Passport stamps and boarding passes as evidence of how many times you visited.

3. Conversation logs from skype, whatsapp/fb messages, etc.

My fiance filled one month and 6 days after we met.

We were approved without problem, and with 24 age diference.

I know this is off topic...but I've noticed that petitions from the Philipines are approved very fast! Which is awesome, but does anyone know why?

They're expedited due the typhoon that hit the country in late 2013.
