My fiance moved to the States with a K1 Visa on January 8th. We have been checking the I-94 DHS website everyday in order to obtain a copy so he can apply for a Social Security Number (SSN). The website is stating that no information can be found.

How long have others, who have recently arrived, had to wait?

How long should we wait until other measures are taken?

Thanks!

Allison

I checked mine and I found it the day after my arrival. But that was a year ago.

Hi,

Have you tried another combination of his names? For instance: His name is John Lopez Brown. Try his last name as LOPEZ BROWN or his first name as JOHN LOPEZ and any other possible combination.

I know this before CBP instructed me to do so and that's how I found out I have three different records due to this difference in the way they write our names at the POE.

As of now I am mailing them in Ohio to fix my records because my last departure was not recorded and apparently they consider I am still in the US when I am not. I don't want any issues by my interview day or even POE since by then it would be wrongly consider I overstayed!!

You can call and make an appointment to go to the Deferred Inspection Site of your convenience. Please find the list here: http://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/i-94-instructions

They told me I should look for their location but I am not in the States though. In my case they also say that I don't need to do anything if I had a commercial airline as my carrier and it could be easily fixed at the POE by providing them the evidences (Ticket in my case), but anyways I am sending a letter to Ohio just in case!! :)

I hope you get it fixed soon!!

Thank you! We went back and checked under a different spelling of his surname. He has several spellings on his passport since there is an umlaut over a letter in his name.

There it was! We have already contacted the local DHS office to adjust.

Thank you!
